You need a inkjet printer, use sublimation ink, printing on the sublimation paper, then heat transfer by the flat heat transfer machine, mirrored paste onto the polymer surface , you will have finished the works for sublimation.

How can I press onto poster board? Imagine the same type of poster board used for signs or even science projects. Is that possible? What would be my temperature and time setting?

Thick Paper. Another option is foam board which is paper outside and foam inside. The foam would not touch the platten but I imagine it could melt if temps are too high. The paper would burn if temps are too high. How can I apply a plastisol transfer without these challenges?

You have to test it first. Check the paper or foam can burn in those temperature or not. In generally , thick paper will not burn , you can put a high temper isolation cloth to separate the high temperature. Try it first, you will get the actually answers. PS: The thick paper maybe come to brittle, Occurrence of curling，but will not burnt . 1 question, Why would you not try to use cut stickers to make postal card, heat press vinyl always use on textile or sublimation consumables.

180 degree - 30 seconds for cotton... if you made a mistake in your print, cover up with plain bond paper and press it in 200 degree for 45 seconds and the print will stick into the bond paper... not applicable in light transfer paper, only in 3g dark paper... hope it helps
