Main characters often have simpler, more boring designs. You want something straightforward, easy to animate, and recognizable. Also, I like the head canon that when Marinette first transformed, she didn't want to be a superhero, so Tikki gave her the simplest default suit.

Ik this is irrelevant to the video but this just made me think of Chat Blanc again. This animatic really shows the innocent and vulnerable heart he has because of his age, and how painful things like heartbreak can be. Even I tend to forget they're kids, but seeing Chat Blanc sing that song about the lonely kitty on the roof, and knowing how hard it was on him to accidentally kill both the love of his life and his father, really shows that he's still incredibly vulnerable on the inside, maybe even more so than Marinette.

Okay I know the miraculous go to multiple people but I've always liked to think that the ladybug and the cat miraculous were like always soulmate kind of thing. I don't know I just always imagined it as reincarnations of the same people in that regard at least because it would probably be really hard to find people with the same amount of control for Ladybug and Chat. idk, it just makes me really sad as it makes me think that Chat (at least in this animatic) has been waiting for Ladybug since the miraculous were made and I love that kind of angst
