I think this progress is very important for their relationship as Marinette and Adrien as a whole. Adrien is sweet, and helpful, but he has been hiding his other character traits from others mainly because of reputation. As Chat noir he's strongly expressing the side he's been hiding for so long. Marinette fell in love with Adrien, not Chat Noir which means she only likes this guy as a half. This also may be a reason why Adrien can't accept his feelings for Marinette because he knows she doesn't know how he rlly is as he also said to kagami "What if this is who I truly am?" while making silly poses for her drawing but Kagami only saw him as a perfect and shy guy. And we all know that chat is everything but shy. She literally pushed him to see this reaction in his face and you could tell how uncomfortable he got. But then with ladybug he's careless and in relief, telling her "I only have so much fun with you" because he's not being pushed into a role but can be himself. A similar pattern goes for Adrien and his love for Marinette and Ladybug, with the exception that he always liked Marinette alot. Him saying that "She's a very good friend" is the highest expression he can give someone below being his "Crush" because that place belongs to ladybug. And love does make blind sometimes. I also think that one of the reasons he fell in love with Ladybug and not Marinette was : she saw the side of him no one knows of. Conclusion: When they start loving both parts of each other it will be the perfect time for a reveal.

Great analysis! My favourite moment for Ladynoir's growth is Chat Blanc though. I love how Ladybug's first instinct when she found out that he was akumatised was to wipe his tears and reassure him that she's here for him, here to save him. Even if he literally tried to kill her twice in the same episode, she refused to see him as a villain. As she said, 'he'll always be Chat Noir to her' which is why her approach in fighting other villains and Chat Noir vastly differed. Even when her father, her bestfriend, her boyfriend got akumatised she was easily able to defeat them because she didn't see them as them, she just saw them akumatised villains who she wanted to defeat at any cost. This is why the "you'll always be Chat Noir to me" line really stood out to me. I also love the scene where she ran over too excitedly to hug Chat Noir after he got de-akumatised. The happiness in her tone when she said "I am gonna fixed everything Chat Noir" was honestly so precious. And of course the iconic sunset scene is the best Ladynoir moment ever in my opinion. I still can't believe Ladybug called Chat Noir just to cuddle with him and make sure he's okay. If that doesn't proves she loves then I don't know what will. And technically since the NY special is also canon. The way how Marinette visually cried for the first time when she thought she lost Chat Noir shows how much she truly cares about him. I love how she looks at him really softly when he rambles about flower language and giggles by saying he doesn't need to give her flowers because she already knows he's the best partner ever in the beginning. It's a very underrated moment but one of my favourites. Tldr; Ladynoir is the most developed relationship in the entire show.

@@irina1442 Technically she accepted his red rose in Glaciator. I think the problem with Ladybug though, is not that she doesn't want to accept his rose. Its that she doesn't want to give him mixed signals. For the example, the reason why Chat Noir tried giving Ladybug another red rose in Frozer despite getting rejected previously is because she accepted his red rose in Glaciator instead of creating firm boundaries between partners like she always does. The NY special rose was more development for Chat Noir then Ladybug in my opinion. He did a pretty good research at flower language and specifically chose a yellow rose to tell Ladybug that he respects her decision at just being friends. Ladybug also only accepted his flower after he explained his intentions since she understandably doesn't want him to get the wrong idea. Although I'd count Ladybug looking at him with the most adorable puppy dog eyes when he rambles and praising him that he's the best as development.

I agree. I think seeing Chat Blanc made Ladybug realize how precious Chat Noir is to her (even if it also scared her away from pursuing a romantic relationship with him). And, of course, almost losing him in the NY special drove home even more how precious he is to her. Ever since then she's been tender and affectionate towards him with no trace of annoyance (although unfortunately she's also been failing to talk to him or notice when he's feeling hurt).

Ladynoir has the closest bonding and the best progress in the show till now. It's honestly amazing how much they trust each other and are willing to go to any extent for the other's well being. They understand each other even without saying anything. They already act like an old married couple lmao. Chat Noir is obviously head over heels for LB, but clearly even she is now slowly falling for him. She has unconsciously proved that so many times. She also said that she CAN'T be in love with him. She didn't say she WON'T be in love with him. She only remembers Chat Blanc telling her that "their love did this to the world" and then calling her Marinette, so she probably thinks that them dating will result in such a huge disaster, bcz obviously she doesn't know that all that was bcz Gabriel came to know about Chat's identity. Ladynoir is just them being themselves, fighting side by side together, being playful, joking around and teasing each other, which is why I think that their bonding is truly pure. They have great chemistry, and are almost always in sync. Overall, Ladynoir, to me, is the most interesting dynamic out of all other love square ships. Which is why it's my otp

Genius video! You really showed the development of their relationship giving great examples and showed the parallels between season 1 and season 4 (truth.) Overall you did a fantastic job, but two episodes I might have included are Syren and Time Tagger. Syren (Frozer too) we see Cat Noir get fed up with being the second wheel and feeling under valued, putting a big strain on their relationship. However, in the end Cat understands Ladybug's motives and reconnects. Time Tagger we start to see Ladybug & Cat Noir hanging out with each other post akuma villain LIKE FRIENDS! They do activities together other than crime fighting (getting ice cream with Mr. Pidgeon) and it is a trend that has very much continued in season 4 (NY Special, Lies, and Gang of Secrets) Something else I consider with season 4 is Ladybug complimenting Cat Noir more frequently. This goes back to Syren/Frozer about Cat Noir feeling unappreciated and it's a very common complaint I hear from the fanbase. I think the writers are trying to better parallel their support structure since almost always it has been Cat comforting Ladybug in the finale episodes. Well, aside from Anasi and Sandboy.

You forget to mention the Shanghi special, Ladybug 🐞 was deeply awed that Chatnior is looking for Marinette since she’s lost in Shanghi. And the most significant special you also didn’t mention the NY special. In this special/episode we clearly see the development of Ladynior when Chatnior gives up his miraculous Ladybug 🐞 is sad and depressed. She tells Tikki I can’t imagine being Ladybug without him. She doesn’t say Chatnior she says him because she’s truly grown to love and care for him as a person. And when he returns she hugs him and says never to do that to me again. She was so happy when he returned. It’s safe to say that Ladybug 🐞 truly is beginning to have feelings for Chatnior.

Let’s also not forget New York Special and Shanghai Special!!! She was sooo upset to see Chat Noir leave her in New York regardless of how upset she was. When he came back that hug she gave him was just SJAKSKDLFOFKDKD. And in Shanghai, when she told him not to go after Hawkmoth he did it anyway and she had to watch him dissolve to dust and she was SO upset! Even in S1 in Timebreaker she was clearly upset about him getting hit, and that concern clearly grows throughout the seasons, like Gamer 2.0 when he sacrifices himself, and in Lies like you pointed out she literally was holding the man’s arms and was like BRO WTF IS WRONG W U STOP IT I LOVE YOU TOO MUCH practically. And both in Shanghai and New York special she had tears in her eyes when he left and returned. It is SO clear they have grown so close both platonically and romantically. What I love ab their relationship is that although she obviously is in denial ab it or just isnt the top thing on her mind rn with everything else going on, I feel like her feelings for him are like more raw and real like REAL whole-hearted love and trust than towards Adrien. Don’t get me wrong I’m not saying she isn’t in love w Adrien or her feelings aren’t genuine towards him bc they most definitely are !! Theres just something so raw and real ab Ladynoir that just hits diff. I just love the irony of it all bc as they said themselves, LB and CN have to lie to eachother sometimes but they know no matter what they can always trust each other and despite having to keep some distance I feel like she knows him so much without truly knowing a lot? You missed a scene in S2 in sandboy after they have defeated Sandboy and Chat Noir's nightmare (the evil Ladybug) where Ladybug asks Chat Noir if he believes that she's as even as the nightmare and they show her that she really cares about that question. And ofc Chat Noir says the perfect thing - you're the lady of my dreams line and she smiles back - I mean, this shows it all how much their relationship has grown from s1 to s2.
