This is an old comment, but an american airforce contractor purchased 40+ Mirage F1s and fly them very often in the United States, they can often be tracked on the app Flightradar24

Surprised how cleanly that old Atar turbojet burns. Usually old legacy jets were pretty smokey.

This particular engine (Snecma Atar 9K 50) was one of the last turbo jets, and as such one of the most advanced of it's type. For it's size and weight, keeping in mind it is a turbojet, it was one the highest thrust and most fuel efficient engines of it's era. Also very reliable; hence part of the reason so many 3rd world countries are still able to 60 year old airframes!
