The crane looking equipment they are using are caisson rigs. They drill large diameter holes either to bedrock or where soil/ground friction will reach a certain strength. The round metal cages they are building are rebar cages to provide strength for the foundation columns. They will be lowered into the drilled holes and filled with concrete and that will support the weight of the new tower.

New to the channel. Great shots of the construction…best that I’ve seen. We stayed at the Mirage just shortly after it opened. So many great memories in that hotel so sorry to see it go. Can’t say I’m all that excited about seeing some big glass guitar on the strip but stuff changes. I got to live Vegas during the Theme Boom and loved it.

In LV once for 3 days in march 2001 stayed in the glass pool motel . Remember the ship sailing up the street . Good video lots of new casinos on the strip since then .

If you look closely at 7:18 where the mirage sign is on the tower you can see a construction worker on top and front of the letters of the mirage sign on the tower. It looks like they’re getting ready to remove the letters of the mirage on the tower. Don’t get me wrong I’m excited for the guitar tower but my heart is not ready for this 😢💔😭💔

Resorts World is where the Stardust used to be. The land where the Frontier once stood is the big, empty lot across from the Wynn/Encore.

They call that compaction grouting with the drills. I work for Hayward Baker that does the same exact same as Malcolm that’s all footings for the towers so it won’t fall over and won’t settle. Along with just footings. Driving those extra long trucks in Vegas got to be a nightmare.

The demolition company is gone. This is the construction company who is here now. All of Miller’s equipment is gone.

F1 is a continuing shit sandwich for the residents and tourists now relegated to a yearly thing. I live in Vegas and have stopped going to the strip until this F1 bullshit is gone. I go to off strip restaurants now and have found MANY great ones.
