The anime is about a survival death game in modern world without knowing your opponents. That's all you can really say without spoilers. It's a good anime overall. The yandere term really oozes out of it. Psychological, horrorish, mystery. Recommended (Maybe not on youtube, very violent and some sexual (ish) content).

Mirai Nikki is a classic, the character Yuno Gasai helped popularize the yandere archetype. Also the songs by Yousei Teikoku in the anime (e.g., OP1) are really good.

no! for the storyboard sake, pepole remember its exciting because violance and plotting.. and forget the huge huge plot holes? the series ran pn the violence and fantasy crazy promises.. and yet it was one of the worst popular anime you could watch. there bunch on bunch of examples what screw this anime apart from logic story... cant we watch some quality instead?

The 1 opening uses 4 languages Latin, English, Japanese and German and its beginning refers to the council of the gods of ancient Rome, from which the names of the characters are based.

It's worth watching the endings, the full version of 2 ed and 1 op are some of my most favorite tracks from all the anime. If you know the lyrics, they make a lot of sense after watching the anime, and 2 ed contains a strong emotional message from one of the characters to the other.

Future Diary is a must watch classic. Yuno Gasai (the girl with a knife in the first OP) popularized Yandere (psycho) archetype of characters, she's the OG. The anime itself is a survival game with the diaries, which allow seeing future (or some other similar abilities)

The best way to explain the show without spoiling is with a question and my advice to pay attention to the opening 2 lyrics. "What would you do? How far would you go if you were in a battle royale for the power of God?" Yeah i know thats Platinum End as well but this show is sooooo much better

Yuno Gasai is the primary reason to watch Mirai Nikki. She practically carries the entire show on her back. I'm not usually a fan of yanderes, but it's fun to watch her snap from the safety of my living room.

You got it right, this anime is dark, violent and gory. Another horror anime like this that’s even more brutal and disturbing in my opinion is Elfen Lied. I strongly recommend you to watch the opening for that one, it’s so good. But be warned, there’s nudity in it!

Elfen Lied is so brutal that I cant bring myself to watch it again despite how much I enjoyed the show. And some of my earliest memories are of playing Resident Evil and Dino Crisis, so I am comfortable with gore and wanton slaughter, which says something if Elfen Lied actually disturbed me.

It's a romance. Well adjusted people aren't the only ones who fall in love, Let's face it, this is way more relatable if you are part of the Psycho Girlfriend Survivors group. Of which I am a card carrying member with the knife scars to prove it (she was worth 'em and more). It is also far more entertaining than the Notebook.

Oh man, Mirai Nikki ! I'd happily watch you react to it ! It was a staple for every edgy teenager The OPs and the concepts ("future diaries", the yandere archetype, death/survival game plot) made it pretty popular so it's worth watching for a fun questionable ride. (Tbh it's not amazing but it's the kind of bad show that you can remember fondly)

For me, Mirai Nikki was pretty average as a series, since I had seen and read quite a lot of anime and manga by the time I experienced it, but I could see it being quite interesting for someone who is pretty new to anime!
