The Happiest Birthday EVER!! Love seeing you. I have to tell you, I have been following you for the last month or so. I finally finished my first book you have recommended. One of your favorites, Three Men in a Boat! What a hoot! There are no illustrations in my book, so I had to google what this boat looked like. I just can't imagine, where they put all their stuff in this boat? I don't read a lot of English Classics, but I am on this adventure now with you! It is delightful.

PG Wodehouse is a favourite of mine and I’ve collected a lot of the lovely Everyman editions over the years, but I love the Jonathan Cecil audio books too, I agree he’s the perfect narrator. I’m currently listening to The Mating Season, I love the stories with Gussie Fink-Nottle. Seeing Private - Keep Out took me years back in time - I remember getting it in primary school book club and loving it, but it was lost and forgotten about for years. A very Happy Birthday for next week and I’m so pleased that your celebrations have started early! What a wonderful new book collection. Having to travel today, I passed my lovely little (fairly local) indie bookshop this morning on my way to the station and as I looked in the window my eye was drawn to ‘Raising Hare’ and the little Almanac poetry collection that was also on display. I have bought several books from the charity shops here that you have spoken about in your videos but last weekend I picked up a book because I recognized the artwork of Angela Harding on the cover, again from your sharing her work on your chanel. When I got home I found it was a children's book with drawings of owls on the corner of some pages. At 72 I still enjoyed "October, October" by Katya Balen.

I'll be interested to know what you think of the new Richard Osman as I was in agreement with you about the Thursday Murder Club series. I was looking forward to the first one as I really like Richard Osman as a tv presenter but was disappointed in the first book and didn't bother with the others. I have a couple of your recommendations noted as possible Christmas gifts and some added to my own wish list. Those cookery books sound delicious! I always enjoy Nigel Slater's writing and 'teatime' books are also a temptation with all those treats on every page. I have so many baking books but there is always room for one or two more.
