How nice! An extra video on Sunday. Thank you very much for sharing your readings with us. It would be lovely to know about your reading habits - how you organize your readings, how many hours a day you read, are you a morning reader or late night one ? Have a nice week ♡

Hello Miranda. I've been in a reading slump lately. I decided to join along in the comfort book club and am enjoying Diary of a Provincial Lady. It's so different from my usual genre. You've also inspired me to pick up Which Way by Theodore Benson. I'm having lots of fun reading again! Have a lovely day!

So loved hearing your takes on the BLWW titles - especially Sally, which I am desperate for everyone to read :D I bought A Snowfall of Silver a while ago, and keen to read.

Ugh!!! I don’t like being this late to your videos..okay focused again… Miranda thank you so much for a bonus video.. Miss Maggie sounds like a fun character..do you know I still haven’t read the one Miss Marple book that I own “A Pocket Full of Rye” I’m still stuck on Periot ( I have lots of those, 🤣 I’m bragging again ) “ A SNOWFALL OF SILVER” sounds wonderful.. I really love books set around WWII ( thanks to you 🥰) tell Donna I said Hello💕🥰

Thanks so much, Kiki! Mum says hello to you too 👋 A Pocket Full of Rye is SO good - such a hard one to guess - but Poirot is awfully fun too. A Snowfall of Silver is a lovely festive read 😊 ❄️ xxx

These all sound so lovely, Miranda. I especially love the sound of both Which Way? and A Snowfall of Silver as, like you, I am so ready to get into the festive spirit! I re-watched you and your mum making your Christmas pudding and reading extracts this morning and now I am ready for it to be December. Thank you for the lovely suggestions, as always.

What a treat to get an extra video. Sally on the Rocks sounds good. I have Consequences but haven't read it yet. Honestly my reading this month has been meh! I read the provincial lady last month. Think I'll read it again before this coming Friday. I look forward to seeing you and your mom. 📚👍💕

Hello, Miranda! I have yet to read any of these tempting titles but have definitely added several to my TBR. I have read E M Delafield’s books many years ago, but listening to you speak of them in the charming way you do, inspires me to pick them up & enjoy them all over again! I also have found myself rewatching some of your festive videos from last year to help glide into the holiday mood. I believe our reading tastes are so similar, thank you for sharing. 📚👓🍁

Another interesting list, Miranda. I am impressed that you keep up your reading in busy times-thereby comes a New Year's Resolution for me, not waiting for family life to calm down. I am saving the British Library titles for the New Year, so I'll have good reading material. I have enjoyed learning more about E.M. Delafield, and look forward to our discussion.

Hello, Miranda. I have only recently discovered your channel, and have been binge-watching your videos ever since! So far, you have encouraged me to sort my somewhat muddled bookshelves; introduced me to Hazel Holt’s Mrs Malory series and helped me to discover several book present ideas. I thank you, and your lovely Mom, and look forward to further literary adventures together.

@@MirandaMills Miranda, by way of a thank you for the above, I would like to mention one of my favourite books. Have you read Crossing to Safety by Wallace Stegner? He was a Pulitzer Prize-winning author, and this particular book, a study of friendship, is wise, moving and descriptively beautiful. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Four more to add to my special Miranda recommended tbr! Even A Snowfall of Silver sounds good and YA isn't really my thing. I hear you on the importance of language (especially dialogue) in historical fiction. It can really pull you out of the story if it isn't right.

An evil Miss Marple, I love it! I finished Diary of a Provincial Lady this weekend and loved it. The ebook I got from my library also had two other stories so I intend to read at least one more before it’s returned. Which Way sounds very interesting and it’s definitely going on the tbr wish list. Consequences sounds like a book I would also like to read but I think I’ll put that off until maybe next springtime. I don’t read very much YA but I would be drawn to A Snowfall of Silver just because it’s such a beautiful cover💙 I have also been enjoying rewatching some of your videos from last year, especially the one when you decorated your trees. Friday’s video with bookish recommendations for Christmas gifting got me started down this path.

You hit the nail on the head with YA for me. I might be enjoying a YA novel but I am then pulled out of the story by the dialogue as it tends to be too modern and out of place for a historical setting or even fantasy. I have not picked up YA in years, but a sky painted gold might be one I try.
@MirandaMills3 жыл бұрын
Yes, unfortunately I feel that’s the weak spot of these books (and the writing in general is a bit simplistic), so you may not enjoy them, but at least if you try one you’re prepared! They are sweet light reads 💫

Hi Miranda, I am intrigued by your description of the writing style of Laura Wood so I think it will be interesting to try one of her books.
