I have a Miraphone (Mirafone) euphonium, model 8280. I call it my Red Violin after the movie of the same name. It was gifted to me when I was in college through my high school band director. The original owner wanted it to go to the best player that he know of. Turned out that was me. I used it throughout my college years where I was in band and took the music performance track, even though I was not a music major. After graduating, I've been in community bands most of the time. After 25 years, I just got back into it. Now in my second year back with the same Mirafone euphonium. I keep the rotary valves and the slides lubricated. It plays perfectly. Excellent tone quality. The horn and its rotary valves get lots of attention from other people in the band. I think the horn dates from c. 1973. I'd like to know more about its history. There were times during the period that I didn't play the horn that I thought of selling it. That would've been a big regret. Happy to keep playing it. We're very close friends for life.

The instruments look and sound lovely, I wish I knew where I could find a decent second hand one. I imagine the workers at the factory enjoy their jobs, it must be good to know you are producing something of such high quality.

I'm a proud owner of a Miraphone oval euphonium--great horn! Here's a random question--does anyone know what tune is being played in the background at the start of the video? And is that the Miraphone Tuba Quartet playing it? I'd like to get an arrangement of that piece for our local tuba quartet...

Thank you very much--I tried searching for the audio recordings from their albums, but could not locate that particular piece. If you know where I could obtain the sheet music, it would be greatly appreciated!

Ich weiß trotz der angeblich so qualitativ hochwertigen Verarbeitung und der "Liebe zum Detail" nicht, was diese hohen Preise rechtfertigt. Ich bekomme ein Tenorhorn zum halben Preis mit der gleichen Qualität.
