If they don't want to talk about it then they don't owe anyone that or if they're sad when they do. I personally deal with it similarly using humour to express it and find the way she told the story hilarious but not everyone has to!

When she relates sanitary pads in a dispenser for 2 pence, it wasn't that it was so very long ago but in those times those things were provided as a service not for major financial gain. Now anything required by women is looked upon as a goldmine and priced as such.

The story at the end, about the script with blood on it, was simply FAR more funny, original, and absurd than any scene from a comedy movie. Miriam’s real life is one long episode of a surreal show made up of the Bridgette Jones movies, Something About Mary, Bridesmaids.... and a host of other similar material. She is genious...
