I love how this interview is running as a relaxed conversation and human engagement is very noticeable from all parts. Much more enjoyable than most of now a days interviews that it seems a bit forced with questions as a script and not letting the guest talk freely and ramble about mundane things, etc. I love Miriam Margoyles so much, she is so lovely, funny and charismatic.

What a perfect explanation. I too enjoy these sorts of interviews far more than most of what happens now, which is rather sad this style has sort of....disintegrated into commercialized Humans Are Products not People... I mean some older interviews with Maggie Smith run this way and they're incredible. What are we losing I wonder, in reducing people to products and not permitting them to stretch their verbal legs a bit and waffle about?

Wow - people were battered back then Miriam... what about now?! 🤣 What comes across here for me is how relaxed J& R are..... it is a reflection of the times - not as "battered" then as we are now Miriam!

Watch her documentaries she does here in Australia …she is certainly…not..growing old gracefully…she speaks with elegance and then throws in f bombs and farts….maybe she thinks at 80+ years she has got a license to grow old disgracefully….but I love her…she can be hilarious.❤️❤️🇦🇺🇦🇺

Interesting to see a slightly younger Meep Meep Margolyes, she has aged a lot since this interview footage. I also think, she now uses a mobility scooter (that or sometimes a walking frame) and yet she is still able to drive an RV caravan all the way round Australia

But she never said she was single. Just that she wasn't married, which was true. Doesn't mean she's closeted because she's not going into detail about her private life

I remember this interview first time round, the only I never got answered was... Which chicken soup, does she mean the one you drink/eat or does the more adult meaning ( which in the 90s was very well known in certain area of the adult population).

Miriam's grandad Symeon Sandmann was born in Margonin (Poland) and in 1870 emigrated to the UK. We always wondered if the surname had something to do with the town's name..... that's so sweet ❤
