Mirko Hirsch - Into the Night (We go to Alphaville) - 2024 - Synth Rock - Offical Lyrics Video

Here's a song that is meant as the follow-up to "Lost in Alphaville", a mix of synth pop and rock, a touch of Italo Disco and the typical elements you expect from a song by me.
In my teenage years, I've always dreamt to be a songwriter such as Desmond Child, Jack Ponti, Tom Kelly & Billy Steinberg with other people singing my songs. Some people didn't like my own vocals on "Lost in Alphaville" according to some reviews on the web, so I decided to have someone else perform the vocals on the "sequel".

Is the Alphaville a mention to the Goddard film?

The lyrics are meant to be ambigous. My first song about that topic "Lost in Alphaville" was actually about the original band member Frank Mertens, who quit the band Alphaville after the "Forever Young" album but could also be understood as being "lost" in a big city. The lyrics in "Into the Night" can be interpreted in different ways as well. It could be a group of people going to a concert of the band Alphaville or to a city called Alphaville or about the return of Frank Mertens. The line "The lonely boy is returning" derives from Frank's solo project after quitting the band called "The lonely Boys". So, there's quite a lot to discover in the lyrics of both songs. In the end, it's mainly an hommage to the band Alphaville and their first album, which has been a huge inspiration for my own songwriting with songs such as "Big in Japan", "Forever Young", "Sounds like a melody", "A victory of love", and all the other great tracks on it.
