What I found in this classic old trance, house songs, that they are made with very simple tehniques. And this simplicity is the pure magic for me, it creates an amazing vibe like this songs has. Nothing will beat the music from this era, nothing!

90s have the gold tracks and 2000-2005 is full of tracks like this one!

Dig deeper, the music keeps getting better if you look in the right places, it’s just the time and the atmosphere that changed, don’t slate todays music and underground producers. To put it briefly, don’t be a fossil
@ryanisstuckin935 ай бұрын
I totally agree. Most of the new stuff sounds too similar and uninspiring. There is some good new stuff out there, but back then producers had to be very imaginative. Techno in particular seems to have lost the big breakdowns and build ups it used to have. It's non stop and almost like it's for people with no patience. The 90's was the golden generation for me, always will be. You aren't a "fossil" for liking what you like as the person above me said.

Mid to late 90's were great but so was 2010 to around 2015, and this is coming from someone in his late 40s. Listen to John Digweeds Transitions podcast and youll find some modern gems

31 May 2022 - still listening (and LOVING!) this track! 💖 The World is a bloody mess, Folk against Folk, Division, Hatred, blah, blah, blah - a full breakdown in Society. And whilst I am aware of all of that - I need to have time out from it (we all do - take care of your mental health!) so I come back to the Music I love. Music is what saves me and my sanity (haha, not that I claim to be sane or anything close LOL 😂) I simply know who I am and how to 'detach' from all the ugghh stuff... 👍 Music. It is akin to a Balm to the Soul - I'd be lost without it - and cranking, sweet tracks like this! 💖 Peace y'all ✌

A little kid, with his mom. Hi. It's me, Iggy... "That man that they want in my mom. I got that man on my mind that I can't find." / What would that man be, to be there in front of his mom. Their interaction and pausing. Is that this music?

I have had many mp3 versions of this through the years. None of them sounds good, no matter the bitrate. I've come to believe that the original cut is of poor quality..
@DJJonPattrsn228 жыл бұрын
@midimop - that is obviously a possibility... But Red Jerry (for anyone who may not be familiar: is the founder/executive of the record label- HOOJ Choons, one of the most important, seminal trance/progressive/house labels- with a great reputation) is known for reliably solid production/remix work. The fact that Oakie included it on his GU-New York mix makes me think the production quality is fine. Several other possible explanations: 1- poorly ripped source recording! Recording vinyl can be tricky/troublesome 2- poor or inappropriate post-processing/attempted clean-up/improvement/editing of source recording or mp3 (many people don't understand that re-encoding an mp3 to a higher bitrate can NOT improve the quality- it only wastes space & increases decoder load) 3- mp3s not encoded with appropriate settings or a decent encoder 4- manufacturing defect/issue due to the quality, maintenance/conditions or settings of manufacturing equipment 5- quality/grade and weight of actual vinyl plastic used (thin or poorly pressed records have shallower grooves, possibly missing detail- they skip easily, wear out quickly & sound bad to begin with 6- issue with the master plate itself- lots of potential for problems involving the process of creating the "mold" plates- the quality & condition of the "cutter" & needle; determining depth, quality/detail & spacing of grooves Plus, vinyl records inherently suffer an increasing degradation in quality as the groove get closer to the center; especially with longer or multiple cuts per side I own lots of Hooj wax (~100 or more records) and generally their quality is at least average or better. But I've noticed variances in quality of some records leading me to conclude that multiple manufacturers (pressing plants) were probably used over time for whatever reason(s). Also, a few Hooj records that have some really awful defects that must be avoided to protect needles & speakers- the defects are even in almost the same spot on other copies of that release- apparently all the copies that our shop received.
