Hello Miroslav. Please give me your opinion about this. When I use compressed charcoal stick (or even a medium charcoal pencil) to give the faces and backgrounds a darker layer of color like you do, I can't shade the raw lines like you seem to do so easily. The charcoal spreads around but the lines remain quite the same and stand out too much. Either on smooth tick paper and sketch paper. What's the point in your opinion? The charcoal is harder than which that you use? Is it due to the kind of paper? Thank you

Use vine charcoal for smoother transitions. With pencils hold them sideways and use less pressure.
