Mirror Makeovers || Thrifted || Amazing Results You’ll Want to See These

One thing that I love to thrift and makeover is mirrors. You can get them for such a great deal at a thrift store. And with some paint they are a easy resell. But in today's video I planned on painting them and doing my usual water and sand paper distressing. zBut nope, I came up with something different and oh.. my do I love these.

Yes, walk away from a project, that is great advice. There are so many times where I am working on something, but when I walk away and come back, it isn't so bad. Everything was gorgeous. I have some of the plastic frames like that.

I kinda like that crackle finish as long as it doesn't start to pop off pieces of paint. But I'm wondering if there was something in the original finish that might have reacted with the paint. I also wonder if sealing it first might have prevented that. Hmmm guess we will never know. Hope they all sell well for you.

Why don't you just turn the mirror, Instead of removing the hardware? Lol I love everything but with the transfer is my favorite!!! I have 3 of the deer transfers and I'm using the wee sleeping fawn with the Vintage Belle frame transfer! I'm just using the outer frame and the fawn fits perfectly in the center and I can't wait!!! As far as the wax goes Prima has one in a tube that is a antique matte white that is perfect for hitting the high points and because it's thicker, it won't settle in the lower spaces without you cramming it in there 😁 and only goes where you place it! I swear... I wish I was one of those people 😇 who can look at someone's thrift score and genuinely be happy for them!!! BuUuUuUt NoP€👿 my inner BratZilla, just mumbles like a grumpy chicken Instead!!! Lol I really do love everything you make, but especially when you use stuff from IOD, Prima, and Royce's papers, because everyone else uses a Cricut, which of course is fine lol but it's just not for me! I've wanted to get one since 2006 but now that I have seen the results in person I don't care for it anymore but regardless I can't wait to see what you do next!!! All of the frames are awesome, Yvonne! But you know what? I REALLY love the crackle on the white mirror! No one would ever know that was not intentional! I think it adds to the character of the mirror! If you ever figure out why it crackled, please be sure to let us know! Some of us might want to do that on a frame sometime! The cream colored one looks like it was made that way. As always you did a fantastic job.. I cant wait to try it on a frame I have and I only payed $2 for it. So if I do mess it up it won't be bad. Yvonne... I think it cracked because you are mixing a water based product with an oil based product. It has happened to me before. The Varathane Wax is oil based and the Waverly antiquing wax is water based. Oil and water do not mix therefore causing the cracking. I now use Dixie Belle clear wax and when I mix it with the Waverly antiquing wax, it no longer cracks. The other guilding waxes that you are using are oil based as well so they mix just fine with the Varathane Wax. Hope this helps ❣

Hi I was wondering if you could tell me more about how you heat your shop, in your shop I see the wall heater, do you have a huge propane tank outside or do you use smaller tanks? Thank you😊 I have the same wall unit that I would like to install, if you do run small tanks how long do they last?

Oh.. we have a 120 gallon propane tank that we rent and they come fill. Definitely nice to have constant heat. I think we we filled it 3 times last winter season.

Love all the updated frames! I have one I want to do and want to use a transfer on it, like yours. You used a wax over the transfer-does this seal it? Easier to clean and not worry about the transfer coming off? Thanks.
