I'll never get tired of it. I remember when I was 11, begging my parents to buy me this game. I'm now 18 and I didn't know it yet, but it was going to change my life. the atmosphere, the soundtracks, the city, the characters, all these things made me feel good at times when things weren't going so well. I've played it over and over again, I'd say I'm on my 40th time, but it still gives me the same energy. So maybe you'll bump into me exploring the city, somewhere between Zephyr transit and Anchor?

I'm a lone twenty-three year old, with a very insignificant skillset and little to my name. I recently landed a remote job that'll keep me locked away from the outside world, in a messy room I'm always too tired to clean. Everyday I wake with concerns over mundane things that will decide my fate - housing market is skyrocketing, horrible entry level jobs, prices rising everywhere - things like that. Although we live in the best century for the human civilization right now, somehow this world is only looking more grim as we go on. I find myself dreaming of a happy life, all while i have little to no clue how to get there. That's probably why I'd give much to be sixteen again, booting this game up for the first time. Although life feels really uncertain right now, this song makes me want to run into the future with confidence, and the biggest smile on my face. Thank you, Solar Fields. The music and style of gameplay is what attracted me to the first game. Compared to the others games being released at the time, it was refreshing. Playing the demo on my PS3, I instantly fell in love with the game. When I heard this song for ME:C, I knew it would be a good experience, especially after the trailers. When this song played during the intro sequence as you return to your home, it was one of the most emotional moments for me, considering the adventure I’d gone through with the first game, and what was about to happen. I’ll always have faith, because story doesn’t define a Mirror’s Edge game, but the atmosphere and gameplay, much like what you said.

Same exact thing for me. I spent several hours in the first game just running around levels during time trial to relieve stress. When a game can do that for me, it always holds a special place, especially Mirror’s Edge. Every song has purpose, every level has meaning, and the real adventure is what the player makes out of it. Nobody needs explicit narration saying, “Here is the story as we know it, here is bad person, go defeat bad person.” A story is better told through the characters as they interact with each other. Mirror’s Edge fits this bill perfectly. With Merc, Celeste, Faith, Kate, and even Miller. There might not be a whole lot, but for what we get it’s meaningful, and certainly not forced. I love this series, and no matter what game come out from it, I’ll always support it 100%.

I don't even think the story is bad, its vague, sure, but thats the whole point of Mirror's Edge: to serve as a mirror between our world and the city of Glass. It has always been a game about people fighting against the control of masses by private corporations which manipulate politics to favor themselves and Faith x Kate relationship. It has potential, especially after Catalyst. EA was satisfied with MEC sales, as they didn't think it was going to sell much anyway. Expect a 3rd installment next generation!

+Morph Verse Yeah I absolutely hear what your saying in regards to both OST . From what I've heard from catalyst so far, I still think the original mirrors edge OST is better (catalyst is still magic too as you put it). But in my first comment I wasn't talking about OST's as a whole, but about the main themes. For me, mirrors edge first main theme had a slow, deep atmospheric feel to it & catalyst's main theme IMO continues with that, even though cat's theme is a lot shorter (but this may just be a sample). So that's why I said it feels like the old mirrors edge, I was talking more specifically about the themes.

Easily my favorite ambient artist EVER, thats saying a lot bc i listen to the whole Ultimae Records ( I know you know who they are) and tons of other ambient artists, psy ambient artists, Down-tempo artists, etc...the whole album, "movements" is too hard for me to describe how much I like it. Incredible artist for sure. You know I'm not positive about this and don't want to assume stuff thats not true but its like his mirror's edge music is his throw away music, if you get what I mean. I don't know if you are a fan of Solar Fields' music beyond Mirror's Edge, but I think it's interesting to hear you describe it that way because those are precisely the words I would use to describe much of Magnus' music beyond Mirror's Edge: light and melodic, occasionally with somewhat lighthearted melodies but always with an underlying sense of melancholy. I've never understood people that think Solar Fields is primarily upbeat danceable music, probably 90-95 % of his discography is melancholy and sad to me (which is why I like it)

God I miss this franchise so much. Back when big studious dared to take chances on novel concepts and ideas. In a way, this franchise kind of reflected the future of games and gaming. The gaming landscape, in terms of triple A games, has become Cascadia. So polished and controlled. Afraid to take chances and try anything new, or do things they think/know won't succeed. It's a damn shame. This series is one of few that I will consistently remember up until I die as giving me the feeling of "This. This is gaming." Salute to all of you.

Man this game just gives your this chill vibe that no other game can give, from the bright nights and its neon colour scheme to the smooth cloudy sunrays in the morning time period, this games play on colour makes for a nostalgic feel, I remember faintly playing the original version of this game as a kid being frustrated by the fact that how brutally hard the game was for me (Keep in mind I was still very young and inexperienced), now with the changes that the game has made in the course or 8 years I believe this game is a masterpiece for its time thus i will be very disappointed if there wasn't a 3rd instalment to this franchise

To me, ME:C is what ME:1 should have been and I can see why they did a reboot as it really needed due to lack of story, depth and lore (if you will). Keep in mind, I loved the shit out of the first game as I probably installed it once every year for 8 years. The story kept me interested, it was nice to see Faith's character grow and build as the story went on and to see some depth in her. I really hope Mirror's Edge will continue as a franchise, but a franchise that has years between each installment.
