Although Catalyst wasn't my cup of tea, I absolutely love Solar Fields' work on the soundtrack. This track in particular captures this feeling of climbing up something ridiculously enormous, the final test of what you've learned up to this point. Masterpiece.

Its cause Solar Fields makes great music. Should check out his standalone works like OCT, Sol overextended, Landform and The Missing to name a few. He has made a lot of great tracks over the years that aren't from Mirrors Edge.

@@KiwiSpartan01 Do you like it better? Personally I love both, although the first one definitely had a bit more energy to it.

@@gaiusfulmen 1. First game has a more concentrated soundtrack. Since it's not a 5 hour soundtrack (only 1 hour 19 minute), it's obvious Solar Fields thought more on the tracks... But of course this soundtrack has amazing parts too. It's just..there is more filler parts. 2. You can hear some style changes, especially the kicks are different. I have a feel like he was using claps/snares more oftenly and kicks were thinner in 2009. But in Catalyst we hear more fat kicks. Also we are hearing more white noise, reverb and distortion in 2009 ME OST. In short: 2009 ME: "Look at the glasses and whiteness and wind." 2016 ME: "Look at the neon lights, drones and cleanest city of the world." Hardest track to analyze so far. Imo: The Shard 0:00 good 1:40 not goot enough 3:03 not good enough 3:54 good (gets more energetic at 6:24) 9:20 good 12:58 good 16:17 (16:50 action) meh 20:51-end (21:54 saves this part a bit but still not good enough) p.s.: 20:35 That transition is lit fav part: 7:47 to 9:20
