It is not numbers but cohesion. Not all Banyankole cherish Obugabe Gen Tumwine and Gen Tinyefuza might propose restoration while Gen Otafiire and Col Mushega say a loud NO. In Buganda, any anti-bwa-Kabaka elements (if they exist) know the value of keeping mum about it. I think the Sabaruuli issue was mishandled but I won't discuss it here.

Don't confuse the public M7 can't allow obugabe simply because his origin is not ankole if people in Mbarara Ntungamo and Bushenyi want restoration of there traditional institution back then why give excuses that banyankole in sembabule don't like it revise history obugabe existed in ankole and banyankole leaved in sembabule And Nakasongola even before Museveni came to power so it's a lame excuse from the son Rwanda

Those in Ngoma, Buruli and the surrounding areas are not Banyankore, they either Batutsi or Bahima. Museveni should stop imposing himself and those Fellow Hima-tutsi on Banyankore(Bairu)

I was told the Obugabe was so rude with its leadership hence being unpopular to the current Banyankole though it has affected our culture in one way or another. Onther other hand, would he have allowed its restoration?? I doubt.

Being a muhima himself, married to a muhima munyankole he knows very well the history between the bairu and bahima, particularly the bahinda, the way things are serve him well, and that's why he consciously avoided going to the point and chose confusing diversions. The bairu who make up 90% of the banyankole, would never welcome back the bahinda, the bahima in their price would never recognise a mugabe muiru so it's a clear situation. The reality though, is that the Ankole kingdom existed, the dynasty was real. Those facts will never go away, ever. The bairu distrust is based in facts too. The monarchy was anything but constitutional or democratic, and very abusive, so was Buganda, more cruel at times. If they were smart, the bahima could resssurect the legacy, through, museum, art, music, personalities and keep the heritage alive, even profit from it, without political restoration of the kingdom. All through culture and symbolism. The power of identity should never be underestimated! But that's their choice. As for Museveni, his ego is the centre of the universe, and we knew that. He's a dictator!

M7 has never liked Obugabe, in answering the journalist's question, he said that the communities had not made a resolution to restore Obugabe and according to him, they didn't want Obugabe in place. But I understand that gov't resolved to restore all traditional kingdoms and its only Ankole that wasn't restored, reason being that since he's from Ankole, M7 would automatically submit to the Obugabe and it's demands and anything less than that would be interpreted as disloyalty to the king yet M7 hates submitting to anybody. Also Buganda could influence Obugabe, the tribe in power to pressurise the govt and in that way, kingdoms could easily gain political powers. That's why M7 Reinstated ceremonial traditional kingdoms, something the Omugabe couldn't allow.
