Mirza Asadullah Baig Khan was a renowned classical Urdu and Persian poet of the subcontinent. Most notably, he wrote several ghazals during his life, which have since been interpreted and sung in many different ways by different people. He is considered to be the most dominating poet of the Urdu language.

I remember when i was in class 7 probably 12 years old i guess...i watched this movie with one of my czn and she explained me the whole movie coz i wasn't able to understand any word .. yesterday she again send me this clip and I'm nostalgic really want to watch this movie once again.. It was shown as such in the play, but probably wasn’t. However, Ghalib did have quite a reputation for spontaneity, banter and humor all rolled into one. Gulzar probably took artistic license with that reputation for this scene.

In romanized urdu it will be Mukarrar مکرر not Muqarrar مقرر. Mukarrar is from Takraar ie repetition. Muqarrar is from Taqreer ie speech. .. Small clarification. .. Love your interest in Urdu.
