If you want to get more performance out of the device. Lower the refresh rate of the screen in the settings. It goes from 144/120/90/60. The extra power will go back into the CPU/GPU. I usually keep mine on 120hz refresh rate and can play games on high or ultra settings. 60hz refresh rate will give you the best balance between graphics and frame rate. Should allow you to play Calf Duty on high settings with pretty smooth gameplay.

Just pick it up from Razer from 250 and it definitely meet my expectations. I went from playing CODM on a 2017 ipad Pro 10.5 to a 2020 Ipad Pro when it came out, and now on the Razer Edge. The performance of this device with the probability and the of a phone is a very good combo, the only deal breaker is the very large bezels that makes the screen looks very small compared to my S22 Ultra.

I play this game on a iPad Pro 11” inch 1st gen.. it’s like 300$ and plays the game fine.. but the graphics glitch out sometimes and it makes the iPad get hot while playin without a cooler or fan

Razer kishi V2 / edge is trash . What makes it trash is the thumb sticks . Oh boy .. he's in for one . The thumbsticks are not good for fps and you can't change deadzone . They have poor travel distance

Personally I'd say the edge is an okay platform for gaming, but I cannot recommend it if you plan to use it for emulators. A 16x9 aspect ratio just makes much more sense for gaming in my opinion. I have the razer phone 2 and the edge both, granted I have done some work on the phone 2 like upgrading the battery (two branded batteries in parallel) and created an active cooling solution for it (a second vapor chamber and a 40*40mm aluminum fan) and overclocked it to match the specs and overclocked the GPU plus upgraded the OS to android 14 via lineageOS 21.. the performance is Juuuuust close enough for me to say that the edge isn't really worth it if you have the technical know-how to fiddle with a device just a few generations behind.. It's a fantastic device for native android games and game streaming, but it's not good for emulators.. I run oblivion on a PC emulator called Winlator v7.1 and it works really well on both. Before my mods of the phone 2, I could barely manage oblivion on MAX settings at around 10-15 fps (when in the overworld, it does just sub 30 when you're in an internal cell) The edge, straight up can run oblivion at max settings at between 25-40 fps, my modded phone 2, can run at between 20-35 both are set to 720p res as well. So my recommendation is this, if you got an Android device with a 845 and up, don't get the edge, modify an existing device, you can get the parts for it online for under 100 bucks and 3d printing a back casing is not difficult these days, you get close to the same performance.

Let’s see if I can help. I don’t own a retroid pocket although I have seen good things. I will link you a Reddit thread where people go back and forth about these particular devices to see if that sways you in any direction but I’ve never had any issues with my WiFi Razer edge. One main drawback I see is people complaining about there not being an sd card slot which limits the games you can put on the device at one time. Other than that any games I have played on the edge have ran great and the display looks very good. Not sure how much you know about these devices but basically they are android based tablets with controllers attached to them. (Think of a smartphone but just for gaming) Which means you can download and play games from the Google play Store or you can use these devices for things like streaming your home console to them as well. The wifi version lets you connect to your home internet as you would with your game console or laptop and the 5g version gives it cellular data to play away from your home internet. (I’m assuming you’d be required to pay for its service if you go this route via a mobile carrier) Any local games such as emulators and such will be playable without needing wifi or 5G but any games that require a connection to a server will need an internet connection. I mainly use mine at home with wifi and I have no issues. Places like airports, restaurants, hotels etc usually have wifi so I haven’t really felt like I missed out by getting the wifi version. Why do people never make videos for this device. Just Steam, Asus, Lenovo, Msi, Ayaneo, One X, cheap handheld. Logitech. This is maybe an Android cloud device but not too expensive now and more powerful. The problem is that it's not handheld pc like the first Razer Edge, and also with games can play 144hz 🤔 No one comes with 144hz gameplay. I use this shooting Em up games, streaming games 🎮 and movies, and use this like Tablet Emulator. Put BACKBONE on this and play all PLAYSTATİON, NEOGEO, KONAMI ETC.

Would you consider this to be smooth consistently? Does the cooling work good enough? I want to buy this thing and keep it for emulation when it becomes "obsolete" and can't keep up with the current Android games on like 2029 or something. Don't want to degrade my S24+ battery anymore. I wanna keep it as close to new as possible. I've noticed a degradation since I started playing Warzone Mobile for the last month; just s slight degradation but big enough for me to notice.

I would say the device works at its best when it has full/half charge. Once you make your way towards lower battery life the fans seem to be more aggressive and the game seems to struggle more. Not sure how long your gaming sessions are but for an hour or 2 on a full charge I was able to play with pretty stable performance. I do feel the active cooling does make a difference and for emulation purposes it should have no problems at all. That’s also why I got this to not put all the weight of gaming on my actual day to day phone (iPhone 15 pro max) there are other devices to consider as well for this purpose like the AYN Odin 2.

But, isn't the Odin 2 blacklisted by ActiVision? I did a little research and was reading users get banned after runnin Warzone Mobile on the Odin 2 (at least the Odin 1) because it's not "officially" supported by the devs. I'd prefer this Edge because I have a G8 Galileo and it is the ultimate mobile controller. Nothing comes close to its ergonomic design. It's just the absolute best controller for me. Having the Odin 2 would force me to play with that form factor and no be able to change it later is kind of a deal breaker for me.

Btw. Does the Edge have a way to bypass battery power and let the device draw power from the cable itself? I think it's a feature in the ROG Phones, the BlackSharks, and I think the RedMagics as well. This bypass battery feature allows the devide to mitigate the battery problems that come with heat (degradation) by feeding power directly to the phone instead of charging it constantly by having it plugged in.

@@joseluis.colungag people have pushed the thought of the Odin 2 on me so I just offered it to you as an option to research which you already have lol I wasn’t interested in it either partially due to that reason being forced to use their built in controller. I like using my other mobile controllers (including the G8) on the Razer Edge. I also didn’t know it was blacklisted or heard of that being a thing but it is something to consider I suppose since you plan on playing COD.

How do you control your aim and recoil in a controller, I am new to using controller and I cant aim properly.

Find a sensitivity that works well for you, see if you like gyro as well it helps me correct a lot of the aim in this game. Use attachments on your weapons that improve stability/reduce recoil. Play a lot without changing your settings every 5 seconds and get used to your settings. Practice and give it time.

The game runs, just not well. I play on a Google Pixel 6, i can play 1 or 2 matches i just get frustrated with the poor graphics and the invisible charater models, but when i Play "Call of Duty: Mobile" it runs smoothly. Im guessing because Mobile has to be completely downloaded onto the phone as for Warzone Mobile seems to work off of streaming the game live which is probably the worst way to play a shooter game.

I’ve been playing warzone mobile on it for the past few days and it’s been a good experience however I’m not sure if you’re simply looking for a device to play warzone mobile on or if you’d like to play actual warzone on a handheld PC? Id say for the sale price I got this device for it was well worth it. But for its actual price tag, there are other devices you could consider. Much like you I wasn’t looking to spend a whole lot on a device that could play this game and provide me with the Android experience overall including other games. If there’s anything specific that would be a deciding factor in getting any of these devices feel free to ask or let me know to see if I have any perspective that could help make a a decision. Yeah I’m not looking to spend a fortune on a hand held pc device as i predominantly play warzone on my desktop pc and I’ve got a gaming laptop to take with me. But after playing warzone mobile on my iPad I was surprised actually how good it was. So just being able to take something with me on the go that isn’t to bulky or needs to be constantly plugged in appeals to me but a lot of reviews kinda shit of the edge. So when I seen the sale price and seeing you play it it kind of impressed me. Can you play it on the high graphics settings and have you had any issues with the over heating you mentioned in the video. Thanks for getting back to me much appreciated

@@Jcrompo Outside of this video I haven’t had any cooldown warnings I think the system was struggling a bit in the video due to the low battery life straight out of the box and me playing on high settings that’s also probably why the fans were going ballistic lol. I’ve managed to play for a decent amount of time with better performance and no warnings after fully charging the device and although the game can be set to high I think it performs better on mid here. Also setting the actual display on the Edge to 60hz seems to help it as well. The screen was set to 120hz in the video and leaving it on 120hz is fine too but setting it to 60hz also saves a little more battery life. For the price, it won’t get you the iPad experience or performance but it’s better than I expected on this device after also seeing mostly negative things being said about the edge. I will have more videos playing on it and will have to try high settings again on a full charge to see if that has better results than what I showed in this video.

The Razer Edge is a nice device, but the software is very bad. Razer needs to develop a dedicated software for this device like the Retroid Pocket. There's even GammaOS for Anbernic devices, I wish I had bought a Retroid Pocket.

The point was not to get a device that cannot run the game properly just to relate and suffer alongside people on low end phones. It was to get a semi good experience on Android on a decently priced device for myself since i already have an Iphone that runs the game great and did not own an Android device at all. I just needed a working alternate experience on Android to test games and controllers. Some that are not available or Compatible on iphone. I understand the game is pretty bad on Low end phones. But the game is clearly not designed to run on the lowest end phones. If people actually want to play properly they will have to eventually upgrade to a better device.

I wasn't really looking for a similar experience. More like Something that would feel familiar even if it wasn't as good as my iphone, something with an alternate price range and performance from my iphone. I wasn't necessarily trying to find the best Android device either for the game instead I wanted a device that could run it without being the most cut out device for the game. This checked all of those boxes. Weaker processor, cheaper than a lot of phones, includes a controller, dated, but can run the game on mid-high settings.

Cod mobile is still optimised better, but warzone is getting updates at least. It still overheats your device quick no matter what device it is. If you are gonna compare to the latest iphone you need to compare to the latest snapdragon to be fair.

I’m comparing it to the iPhone 15 pro max here only because that’s my current phone and only other device I’ve personally played on to compare it to. My channel is for the most part based on my experience with tech and games not general benchmarks, comparisons, reviews. So I tried this but the Razer Kishi V2 pro included is only configured to android currently. On their website you can buy a controller that’s for both iPhone and android they have also stated that there would be a firmware update for owners of the android model to be able to use it on iOS but idk when that’s coming. I’ve also seen people say that it works with certain games but it doesn’t work with the IOS nexus app. So it’s a mixed bag right now but it looks like at some point it will work for me

I got it for $230. $400 is the actual price. Also in the phone/tablet market $400 is on the less expensive side atleast for high performing devices. Fold phone, iPhones, ROG phone etc. all exceed $400 by a lot.

Well go figure another apple user shutting on cheap androids. 😂 can tell you without a doubt being on Samsung S24 Ultra and the backbone I can play all day with Ultra settings @ 120FPS and Zero issues. You get what you pay for and if you have a cheap phone don't expect great quality, can say the same about apples low end devices as well.

well obvisously you are partial to apple no, IDK just felt a little one sidded @ first. Not hatting on what your doing, I enjoyed the video, I was just stating that you get what you pay for. I however invest and spend the money to ensure that i have great performace, and being a andrioid user from phone being S24 Ultra and Tablet Being the Tab S9 Ultra I do not experiance any issues nor have I ever had any issues using Samsung Flagship devices. @@christopherbailey128 I see what you’re saying but just to clarify a little, my actual phone is an iPhone yes so the only thing I can base a comparison on is my iPhone. It’s not really about being partial to the brand it’s just an objective comparison to my personal use case. I don’t dislike Androids I just think the majority of the complaints are people on extremely low end phones that happen to be androids. I would say the same for anyone using an older iPhone that can’t keep up with the games’ demands.
