Dear Misako, some words of encouragement. have been studying Japanese for 5 years. I live in Tokyo too. I am a dancer too. I just wanted to tell you that I was the same at my Japanese class when I first started. It took me way longer than everybody else. Now I can have conversations with friends and strangers. Still my Japanese is super broken, but I understand a lot and can function on my everyday life normally. You will also get there... a matter of time. Just a little reminder, everyone has their own pace, just value every bit of growth.🙂

I too do not believe in coincidence. Rather, when we open our minds and hearts to the Universe in finding purpose and remaining open to genuine human connection, the Universe obliges as it is always there waiting for us. Best wishes of more opportunities and continued success to you Misako!

Learning languages is so hard but so incredibly worth it in the end! I speak 2 languages and I am currently working on becoming trilingual and the process is the same for me. I even left a class early because I felt embarrassed that I couldn’t speak like the others! Then I realized it’s not a competition and I need to listen to my body and mind and go at my own pace 🤍 Good luck on your journey!

I live in Osaka and experienced similar to you in a language class. very happy to hear your release those expectations and comparisons. consuming a lot of japanese podcasts helped me a ton. Nihongo Con Teppei, Sayuri Saying, Japanese with Shun, Yuyuの日本語 are all very good options. best of luck to you on this journey

There used to have a similar class at my gym that i loved going to. It was called "yoga danse" and we would start in circle doing some yoga moves to warm up and then the music would pick up and we would start dancing freely. The teacher gave us some direction just to make us feel more comfortable. It was so much fun, and I am not a dancer at all.

Please believe me when I say 2024 is the year of true colors. What has been hidden in heart is now evident. Most now are so trapped within confusion and hopelessness. Trapped in their fears with no sense of self purpose merely existing each day. I am so happy for you that you are so wonderfully within your journey of fulfillment. Now with much less anxiety in your found home and the blessed freedom to stretch out your wings and BE who you truly are. Peace
