I bought this ship for one simple reason: refueling at R&Rs only works about 1/4th of the time for me. With the DUR that's no longer an issue since I can safely jump to multiple gas stations until one works. Just not having to claim my ship constantly is wonderful. EDIT: Also, can I say how much I absolutely love the calm, level delivery with which you say "and it has a homicidal ladder." Seriously, you could do deadpan comedy for a living.

Looking on the RSI website, the DUR will apparently have an additional utility hardpoint. It's taken up by default with the enhanced scanner system, but I presume it would alternatively be able to fit a tractor beam, or some other quite useful piece of tech? None of the other Freelancer variants have this feature listed and this seems like quite an important distinction which makes me strongly favour the DUR over the others at this point in time.

Great overview! I purchased the Freelancer DUR back in June of 2014 (!!!) and I only just now learned anything about it. Thank you! The obvious high point of the review was discovering that there is an ESPRESSO MACHINE I had no idea about. The verdict of "It will be worth it in the future" is a fine thing for me, as indicated by the 2014 purchase date. I also recommend the sales-pitch video on the SC site, it's like a RAM Pickup commercial and pretty cool. GJ!

I think it's a portable kitchen station with microwave in it. Otherwise, imagine in universe implications: going for weeks long deep space exploration missions, with only coffee to drink... That at least explains, why WC is on opposite side.

This freelancer dur explore In cost was a 175usd when I bought it, back then I of cause got a little extra as a backer. But cause I was just 1 month behind the unlimited insurance I only got the 6 month insurance, at game launch. When ever that happens. This being a long time ago now, and I guess I’m in my mid or late 40s when it happens. I definitely probably need a new machine to even run star citizen, when the game finally launches.

Few years ago I've bought arrow LTI and upgraded it to DUR. Also bought Nox with intention of faring it in cargo hold, when exploration becomes a thing. Probably in 2050s when they add Vanduul systems into the game, using DUR going to be fun. Smallest of "big" exploration ships, it will be able to go to many places with extended range. Also, you can take 3-4 buds to do exploring adventures. I don't even mind half of capacity sacraficed, as it's ship's secondary trait. It still takes more than reliant, or avenger on one run and you can drive it solo, if needed.

At 5:33 you made one critical mistake. That's not the jump drive but the built in fuel refinery that collects fuel from space and refills your tanks. So technically, your roundtrip numbers could go on to infinity. robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/engineering/16517-The-Shipyard-Fuel-Mechanics

Just here to find out how this ship might synergize with the new big boi. depending how far we can go out, this might be the go to ship for bringing out new people or people that had to visit an actual hospital, for any exploration convoys. People remember you can upgrade modules. To your needs. Idea is : Industrial - cheap to maintain- resistant - weaker in prolonged fight Military - expensive to maintain - good stats for fighting/surviving - ect Civilian - middle road in all aspects So going all military on ship that will avoid combat will be just a credit sink. Trying to fight with industrial modules... will be short lived

If I have a Cutlass black, and I’m fairly happy with the number of weapons/missiles but not very happy with its damage output and the fact I can take a few shots (normally half a slap to one of my forward wings and they break off) before I’m toast. What should I go towards? I feel pretty strongly about cargo hauling, but with enough Hp/weapons to hold my own if I decide to do a few bounty missions or have to protect my cargo or something? I’m thinking going up to base freelancer? And then from there maybe either go with a freelancer mis or max? Idk. Any ideas would be awesome!

Can you do a top tier combat ship comparison? Taking into factor Ships with stock gimble (and the need to set them to fixed when using joystick)

I'm reluctant to do fighter ships for 2 reasons. I'm a s%#t fighter and they will be the most effected by the flight model change. Would you be interested in hearing the opinion of a shit pilot that may be irrelevant in 30 days? This is a serious question. My next ship will be larger in size and the one after that will be the 300i ill see how that review goes and decide if it is time to review fighters. I only use duel sticks buy the way!

Excellent! Is it verified that that pipe-thingy room is the improved jump drive? Lots of speculations around if it was a small refinery when it came if I remember correctly.

Well the wiki says that it gave up space for "an enhanced jump drive, a more advanced scanner, and an expanded fuel tank." The space that it gave up from the base is in that room. But you never know it could just be because alpha.

Anyone know if the graphic bug I am having with this ship is game related of something on my end? With the back door down and looking into the ship the walls are invisible until you walk into the ship and when inside looking out the back it is just a generic backdrop with no detail or information of what is actually outside your ship.

No, not at this time. Not sure ever really. But this ship should have better sensors in the future.

I am not understanding your rankings, they are backwards it seems... The Freelance has 12,000 hit points which you rate at number 2 however, the RSI Constellation has 25,000 hit points (better than the Freelance at number 2) but you rated the constellation at number 4.

Unfortunately, I don't have a review format for ships not yet in the PU. This data is taken from game files and is not accessible for concept ships. I do plan on expanding in the future though. FYI this is the only "jpg" ship I'm considering buyinh, i love the style!

They really ruined this ship, the concept for the ship was much better than what it turned out to be. Hence why I traded up for another ship. Was mighty disappointed with the DUR.
