I remember my parents owning one of these around this year model. It was Dark Green with White trim. So mucjh room to work under the hood.... It was a tank!!! I loved riding in it.... I was 13 and we went on a 1 month summer vacation trip. We drove that thing with a Coleman pop-up camper in tow from Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. up through Tennessee,, Kentucky, Missouri, over to the Black Hills of South Dakota's Mt Rushmore, down to Grand Tetons and Yellowstone Wyoming, south to the Rocky Mtn Nat'l Park, Colorado, down through New Mexico, across Texas, through Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, back down to Ft. Lauderdale... IT WAS AWESOME!!!

My first off-roading was in a city owned late 70’s RamCharger, in the late 70's! What a beast, but it withstood a lot of abuse from many drivers. I always wanted one of my own, and the money to build it! This will be fun to watch!

Now you're talking!!! Yes, A Dodge, and just not any Dodge, but a Ramcharger 😮! Older Ramchargers are very capable, and a ton of fun! Ours is a '77 running the 318 and 727 it came with. Soooo much fun and sooo not for sale! Can't wait for the build😄.

What a smoking deal on that Dodge Ram I wish I could find one that clean at that price around here! Walter doesn’t look very comfortable in that back seat but you can always move it back a little bit for him. Sure it needs a little love but it is a great start!🎉

Very wise choice buying a Dodge ! I had my first Dodge for 16 years and sold it for a third of what I paid for it brand new. I had my second Dodge for 25 years and all I ever had to do was change the oil and air filter periodically. It towed boats and double jet ski trailers without missing a beat. Also pallets full of heavy steel forgings when it was in work mode. I've had my current Dodge whose life overlapped the second Dodge and is now in its 17th year. Only minor problems like an EGR valve and a hood lift supports. I guess built RAM tough is a real thing. 👍

I'm excited, I have an '84 I bought new, loaded Prospector III, Royal SE that is still totally factory. Hasn't been started in 5 years but last time it ran I would have been comfortable driving it cross country. Maybe this will inspire me to get it running again. 24mpg when pigs fly even with 318 - 11.5 tops with my 360 4vTQ

I had a 1976 3/4 ton Dodge camper special. Did a few upgrades and used it to haul my horses up SoCal mountains . It was the best truck I ever owned. Best gas mileage and power steering was phenomenal. Easy to drive and maintenance didn’t break the bank.

Had my '86 Ramcharger for 15 years. 4" lift, locked 60's, 360 with Eddy heads and ProFlow 4 EFI, VintageAir, 10 point cage and loong list of other stuff. I wheel it, daily drive it, road trip it. Drove it from Texas to Moab, spent 5 days on the trails, broke nothing. Great old trucks.

It was definitely a bit of sketchy game-time decision, but until my race Jeep is finished and KOH is over, I won’t have too much time to work on this one & I believe Rudy’s schedule is similar. These old Ram Chargers were pretty sweet! Stock rigs can do a lot more than most people realize if you pick your lines and mind the low ground clearance. I've had my dually with leveling springs and 31's in places that a few jeep guys were surprised by when they swing into a little campsite by a nice mountain lake.
