Thanks for sharing! Some of the strangest looks I get are when I tell people why wildfires can be really good for forests, and that we've become exceedingly effective at fighting wildfire.
@killman3695474 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it's ok to let a wildifre do it's thing, we only need intervene when the fire becomes particularly intense and or threatens human life and property.

So tell us why it is good for forest because the video didn’t.

@@annekincannon-kf3hx Reduces tree overcrowding, limits fuel buildup, encourages new healthy plant growth, allows more sunlight to hit the forest floor, creates better foraging habitat for deer and other animals, increases water flow in streams, creates the right conditions for certain plants to reproduce, prevents hot crown fires from burning entire forests to the ground, etc!

@annekincannon-kf3hx Жыл бұрын
Um yeah ,along with native species. Fire is the chemotherapy of the forest. It destroys everything.

why this video from the official us park service channel is getting so few views in place of MSM news climate alarmist soundbites its just depressing. park rangers will never go woke.

logging is much less destructive, produces health in the forest, and doesn't kill huge amounts of wildlife.

😂 there have been forest fires for thousands of years. The wildlife survived.

Undergrowth does not need to be cleared by fire. It rots quickly. He also never says how fire benefits the ecosystem. It’s one man’s erroneous opinion.

Yah no. In a drought the undergrowth dries up, not rots.

Guess you didn’t watch the video clearly. He explains plenty, for example, about releasing seeds from pinecones. Burning underbrush has been long understood as beneficial. Even native Americans performed prescribed burns.
@Wild_Maryland5 ай бұрын
He literally explained why it's important to an ecosystem. Watch it again. You may need to watch it a dozen times.
