It is very hard to do that. Especially if you don't have cameras or do damage like I do. One of the hardest things to do in stopmotion is to back up and reset. As long as I wish I could do it, I can't unless I buy another camera. Which is a loottt of money

Thanks for the tips! But I'd rather build on my own series than try to be like other stop-motion artists. I can definitely add laps, but I've tried stage racing and pit stops and they didn't work very well. So I'm trying to do stuff that makes my series unique with the damaged cars and chalk racetracks. There is a lot to improve on but I don't want to "be" someone like ACS, if that makes sense.

Both XD. The diecasts you would buy at Walmart or Target would be the cheap ones. Usually 4-5 dollars depending on locations. The really good cars are bought online (PlanBsales, Lionel, or NASCAR itself) , in Charlotte's Lionel store, or at the ractracks for 8-10 dollars

Maxwell makes it by using After Effects. I'm pretty sure he masks the scrolling bar behind everything else and keyframes it to make it move. I keep a spreadsheet of the lineup at the end of every lap so the ticker can be updated constantly. The leader is always shown at the beginning of every lap because of this.
