Kathy Bates rightly gets a lot of praise for her performance here, but I think that James Caan deserves a lot of credit, too. He very ably played a man struggling in multiple ways and his reactions to what's happening are incredible. Like at the end when a well-meaning fan says the one thing guaranteed to most dredge up that horrible experience and look at his face, he's desperately trying to be polite and gracious while, at the same time, struggling not to vomit. Also, I love that at the end, most reactors relax when they see the actual waitress and not Annie, then go "augh don't say that" when she tells Paul she's his #1 fan, but you just say "kill her".

@@KSDVLmom yeah, winning an oscar basically just requires a certain formula and those who win the oscars..well most of the time you'll never want to rewatch those films again, fun fact, Sandra Bullock won an Oscar and Razzie the same year something I realized today is that when the characters of a film are having the time of their life, those are the films you'll rewatch the most, the oscar-winning films..well those characters are having the worst time of their lives, haha

Kathy Bates won an Oscar for that role. Should see her acceptance speech; has a couple of funny moments. 😄 Another claustrophobic thriller that will have you on the edge of your seat and where the protagonist is confined inside a house is WAIT UNTIL DARK. With the lovely Audrey Hepburn. You’ll feel her helplessness, her being trapped. Through a series of events in the prologue, a doll ends up in a blind woman’s basement apartment. It is stuffed with heroin and three crooks want it. What starts as a hustle gradually evolved into a nail biting battle of wits. And there is a jump scare in the climax; makes your heart leap out of your chest like Misery.
@shallowgal462

In the book, she used an axe - a hatchet, and stopped the bleeding with a blowtorch. The end of the book was better: Except for the top sheet to fool Annie, Paul burned a stack of blank paper. Misery's Return was his best work, so he hid it under the bed to keep it safe. After his rescue, it was published, revitalized his career as a huge bestseller, and led him to continue on with writing Misery novels. Suggestions: James Caan in Alien Nation with Mandy Patinkin, and Kathy Bates in Fried Green Tomatoes with Jessica Tandy.

She also kills officer by running over with riding mower, leaves him for 3 weeks causing him to lie in his own toilet needs, drinks pee to keep hydrated, withheld pills for days, killed family she was babysitting for, forced him to drink dirty mop water. Also threatened a film crew on her property.

Paul is such a smart man, he thinks of everything, he taste the painkiller beforehand to make sure it has no taste and he practiced lifting up the typewriter, last thing you want to happen in the middle of a fight is to find out you cannot lift the 'weapon' and get killed or beaten up and have no backup plan. He is also very good at remaining calm and just keeping Annie focused on the novel everytime she flips out.

I think Green Room (2015) would probably be Hannah's favorite thriller, mainly because 1) There's things for her to figure out, and 2) Most every action is believable.

I saw this opening weekend, packed theater of hundreds. When she hobbles Paul the entire audience jumped about two feet out of their seats and let out the loudest collective scream I’ve ever heard in a movie theater. At the end, seemingly everyone in the theater were yelling, “Kill her! Get her! Kill her!!!” as they jumped around, rose to their feet, swinging arms, pumping fists. Including me. One of the five best moviegoing experiences of my life.

My grandmothers house had door locks like that. And I did try yo pick them with a bobby pin when I was a kid. It worked. It was very easy.

One of my personal favs! Directed by Rob Reiner who also made The Princess Bride. Awesome reaction. Btw, I don't feel Hannah has trust issues lol. The truth is women are able to understand and see right through other women in a way most men generally can't. I think your girlfriend has a gift for discernment and can judge a person's character rather well (based on what I've seen here and other reaction videos). It's also really cute to see how comfortable and free you both are with each other. P.S. If Hannah can tolerate your beard smell, she's DEFINITELY the one, mate. Haha ;)

Fun fact, William Goldman who wrote the Princess Bride (book and film script) also wrote the script adaptation for misery! Weird there are so many connections but such different films

Ash and Hannah......I just recently found your channel and I luv your reactions!! It's nice to see that younger people watching movies that I grew up watching in the 80's and 90's. I have been enjoying watching your reactions to these movies. Ash, I see you have a great appreciation for movies overall and Hannah has the best reactions (Luv the "rewind" reactions.....LOL....priceless). Plus I luv your accents (British? Australian?). Looking forward to seeing more of your videos on your channel. Take care to you both!!

"As soon as the road to the hospital is open" the first non-interstate roads to be cleared are the ones to the hospitals. Emergency medical care is always given priority. If a road from town to a rural farm is clear, the road from town to the hospital is clear. Not that calling her out on that lie would've helped him, he still would've been stuck there, but it's a pretty blatant lie.
