First off, great job LearnSomeDrums for breaking the song into components. I'm a beginner drummer and I find this really helpful. Just a suggestion, I was just wondering if you can add a complete run down of the songs that you cover after the tutorial part with the parts labeled down to encourage viewers to play along with the song. Keep up with the tutorial and thank you for the help :-)

Some great clean playing and easy to follow teaching (with very useful notation (for us that can read it)). Just joined a pop punk covers band and this is golden! Thanks a lot for breaking this down. Would be great if you would do the whole song at the end for us to play along to. Keep it going! Thanks

Your videos are great man, I'm new to drumming and I'm still working on learning by ear, but your videos are really easy to follow and do an amazing job at teaching songs! I'd love if you could do Ignorance by Paramore, some of the fills are really tricky. Keep up the great work!

It’s so hard getting the first part. I’m so used to hitting the bass drum at the exact same time that I hit a cymbal with my right hand. I wanna learn how to play this sooooo bad..
@FrankDag3 жыл бұрын
There are two concepts that are giving you trouble: Limb Independence and Syncopation. The trick is to start slow. REAL slow. As slow as it takes for it to feel natural, even if that means you're doing it at 10 BPM. Then you gradually increase the speed over time.

Hey, I know its been over a year since you uploaded this, but i need some help. Do you know how can actually play the snare as quiet as possible in that 5:05 roll? I mean, stretching the definition of ghost notes to sound at the minimum in contrast to the accents. They are asking me to do it but i think is kinda impossible in terms of technique. However, I'm still looking for some advice. Thanks!
@LearnSomeDrums6 жыл бұрын
Hey! It’s a good question. The main answer is stick height - you have to keep those quiet notes just a couple of centimetres (one inch) above the drum. Try practicing paradiddles slowly, accenting the first note and making the other notes as quiet as humanly possible - Rlrr Lrll. It takes practice but it will really help your dynamics and your drumming! The other thing you could try is playing closer to the edge of the drum. You’ll get a quieter sound but it might be harder to bring out any accents you need... Good luck!!!

hello sir i just wana ask what cymbal is that you use for the chorus part how many inches the one on the right side of you
@LearnSomeDrums7 жыл бұрын
+daniel philip seguerra Hello! My right side crash in this video is a Sabian 16" AAX Dark Crash. A mate of mine had a 19" one that sounded great (which is why I got mine) so I would say no matter what size it's a pretty tasty cymbal.

+SHERlocked Yamaha hardware, mostly single braced so it's a bit lighter when I take it gigging. Sabian cymbals mostly hhx and aax. I bought it ages ago and it's all pro gear, so wasn't that cheap but has definitely lasted well!
