He’s great. Before MS I hadn’t heard a Metalcore band use polyrhythms like they do and some of the syncopations on the first album give off a Djent vibe pre-Djent. Though Textures had similar vibes but prob more thrash and Devin Townsendish. Anywho, if I recall correctly they love MESHUGGAH. Branden is a heavy hitter with tasteful flashes of intricacy and technical stuff but still grooves hard af 🔥 he’s a Jazz guy playing metalcore.

Eddie G I love Brownlee he’s more brute force in terms of technique and has pristine/machine like feel I dig. Whereas Branden is more open and achieves intricacies in the pocket very much like Jazz stuff. Not to mention some of the poly-rhythmic stuff that requires some serious independence like “the Shallows”. You’re wrong bud.
@planetside71815 күн бұрын
@@RobertoReyesChHC The boy is 1000X wrong. Kyle is a sick drummer, totally. Perhaps he could play Branden's parts... but I don't think Eddie is *at all* grasping the amount of math/counting like you said in the composition. And while being smooth in the pocket and doesn't seem out of place whatsoever, and makes you not even realize how complex it is if you're not paying attention, which is exactly why he's the damn goat.. And Branden doesn't record to a click from what he has said... The verse part as shown at e.g. 1:55 is legendary status.
