great overview! I have used Misfits a handful of times and another thing I like is that they don't use plastic bags with the packaging, which is something that frustrates me with other delivery services, like instacart. This adds to the environmental friendliness. I agree about the delivery window. I also only get tuesday, and it is better for me to have Saturday since I meal prep on weekends. Though they say that is to keep their carbon footprint low. I may re-organize my grocery planning so I can order from them more often!

Thanks! And thanks for adding that. Such a great point that they are focused on reducing waste. We also meal plan on the weekend, and do that while the shopping window is open, which is helpful, but we usually plan to get us to the following Tuesday.

Any business model that makes you sign up before even looking at their inventory is very very off putting. I just wanted to go on and order but they make you sign up even before you can look. No thank you

It won’t be for everyone. I personally don’t find it that off putting, but I can understand if you are reluctant to create an account. There are a lot of great businesses that require an account or membership to shop at the retailer, including some of the largest retailers in the world (Costco requires a paid membership to get in the door).

I actually didn’t realize that because we’ve been using them for so long. It could be because it’s dependent on your location.

I tried it for the first time last week, I'm impressed 👍 I only had a damaged lid on a yogurt and they refunded me with no issue. I live in a rural area and basically nobody does deliveries here other than the mail and big shipping services, so no instacart or grocery delivery. I love that I can get things that are impossible to find in the grocery stores closest to me (they're not that close!).

I wish my experience was better. I received hot meats and refrigerated items in my first box, and my second order was thrown in the box without any care. The entire order was packed on top of bread, chips, and dry pasta resulting in those items being unusable. In two weeks I lost over $100 in unusable items. I would never recommend them to anyone.

I’ve been a member since they first started. However I haven’t order in months. I find their prices too high for most produce. Also I live in NY and had to fight with them about their delivery service leaving my box outside if the apartment building or refusing to bring it past the first floor.

Sorry to hear that. We’ve only used them when we lived in a small 2-unit building or our own home. We haven’t used them as much lately because we were traveling in the van this year, but we’ll have to do an update video soon and dig into pricing further.

Their vegetables and fruits are horrible. I tried them four separate times. Their produce look the same as the supermarket. What the are doing is dumping off stuff that is just about to spoil. If you do not eat their fruits and vegetables within a day or two it goes rotten.

Thanks for sharing your experience. We’ve rarely had an issue, but we do eat our produce within the week of getting it.

Is it really that much cheaper than going to the market because that doesn’t seem like much for $84?

I think it depends on where you shop, both in terms of which store and where geographically. We don’t use Misfits because they’re the cheapest way to buy groceries. But they are one of the best and cheapest ways to get groceries delivered to you, while also being similarly priced to other grocery stores that you have to go in person. Feel free to compare the individual items on screen to see how they compare to what you’ve paid recently - we wanted to provide as much info as possible so you can make the best decision for your household.

How many different grocery stores do you go to to shop? And where are you located?

@@Fioneers I live in Chicago. I usually go to Aldi and Jewel stores for most of the grocery. For fruits and vegetables -Fruit market stores and Mexican stores, For grains and spices-- Indian stores, For eggs and bananas I buy from Amazon All stores are within 5-mile radius. Amazon and Walmart have free shipping subscriptions, but we get good quality items within the same day.
