Great video as usual Dan! Glad you found an intake that you like. I’m still running the K&N but have the stock air inlet still attached (the first part you removed in this video) to help it suck in a little fresh air during idle. Hope you enjoy. The sounds are definitely sexier.

This is real nice. It looks factory rather than having the typical cone sticking out. Yes, I was thinking hot air in that engine bay. Blends in well and have a nice carbon fiber cover on top. This is the one I’d get on my whip!

So you got the whistling sound too i kind of got used to it but just lost 2 screws that vibrated out and i have noticed that my car does get a little hotter in the summer like when i turn it off after like 2-3 hours its still not all the way cooled down

Also make sure those screws on top of the air box are tight! Two of mine vibrated out but Mishimoto was great about it and sent me upgraded screws and washers within a few days of me writing them.

No problem! I used some old spray I got from the Acura dealer when I had my Integra GSR it's been laying around since 2001 lol. You can use something like this amzn.to/3ja0W4P You don't need very much at all just makes the coupler much easier to adjust . I have a K&N on my 2.0. I LOVE the noises and to be honest I’ve haven’t noticed much of the inconsistencies. One thing I have noticed is the air intake temp is a lot higher because it’s sucking in all the hot air from the engine. In the winter it’s okay but during the summer my engine is running too hot so I’m planning change my intake. What made you go with the Mishimoto over the PRL?

If you install the factory air inlet (plastic piece) it should help. I have it in place along with my K&N.

I decided to go this route because I felt it was the best of both worlds a maily closed box to keep the heat out and with that small opening in front( hopefully only grabbing cool air) giving some sound as well. The prl seems to be great but no addition in sound.

Hey Dan wassup great vid bro I got a question I have the prl hvi I was wondering if I can make a lil opening in the front like this one with like a Dremel tool will it mess up the whole purpose of my intake or it would just get the lil wooosh sound I would like .. I was figuring if it was possible to do that I can add some lil cusion outlining around the cut mark ?

Can alway buy the prl stage 1 intake and modify it to fit if you wanted to upgrade your turbo and inlet.

I put the prl hvi2 on yesterday on my 22. The only downfall is how you have to access the filter when needing to clean or replace it. Any reason why you went with yours over the prl?

I have seen people use them together but you would have to take a couple of inches off the the prl silicone hose

Nope, no rattles or odd noises. Possibly something is loose? Check the carbon fiber lid, those screws need some lock-tite on them. They tend to back out

Definitely not. I would start by checing the MAF sensor make sure it's facing the right way and properly plugged in. Also make sure there aren't bad connections on the system. If you could get the code it's throwing

Not at all but none of the intakes should cause a check engine light. He may have installed the mass air sensor backwards, damaged it, left it unplugged or lastly have a leak somewhere

I would have to say yes slightly more. It's not as loud, but it doesn't get that metallic whistle when under a load. So I would say overall sounds nicer but if you want that really big whoosh sound you need an open intake. If I were to take the lid off it would probably be about the same but would defeat the purpose of getting a mostly closed system

I’m stuck atm. I just traded in my 2019 1.5 for a 2021 2.0 (best trade ever btw) . On my 2019 I had a AEM intake on it which by guess won’t fit my 2021. Now looking for another intake but most of these intakes if not all say 2018-2020 so will mishimoto not fit my 2021?

I believe it should they haven't made any changes that I'm aware of. Some companies say the intakes will fit 2018-2021. I would just double check. Heres a link for the one I have but does say 2018-2020 . amzn.to/3wptP02

If you see a product stating 2018-2020 it is most likely because it was released in 2020, but for the most parts, and I mean 95% of the car remained the same for 2021. You can even get a detailed list of things that Honda changed for 2021, but I highly doubt they did anything to the air intake dimensions etc. They mostly revise parts that need a revision or small improvements here and there by learning what did not work or created warranty claims.

Ahh damn, did you get it out? If not it's probably sitting in the under belly pan. Can usually keep hitting it from underneath and get it to fall out. That way you wont have to take that piece down
