Mishimoto Race Fans on the LS3 240sx

As we get closer and closer to the start of the Pro Am this year, we have quite a few projects to finish up on the LS3 S13 before it is ready for competition. Drift Dad and I adapt Mishimoto’s 11” race fans to their fan shroud for ultimate cooling ability!

How well do the fans keep the car cool? How many hot laps can you get before having to pull off and cool down?

Swap that coolant out for waterwetter. Youll have improved cooling from just that.

Does waterwetter freezes in the winter ? I’ve heard they are really good in the summer only. What do you think ?

alan there is a screw plug on the heads that are already tapped for coolant temp sensors. also you didn't need to drill and tap your water pump. the way you had the steam line run before should have worked perfectly fine. if you havent already, pick up a 4 port steam line kit to connect the 4 corners of the heads together. This will help alot with hot spots in your heads. lastly you now have metal shavings in your coolant because it looks like you never cleaned anything out after you drilled and tapped that hole. i really hope you read this.

What you need is the stock clutch fan with shroud :D Nothing more efficient than that

Alan, dont cut into the shroud cut the radiator support slightly, also make sure to use water and water wetter. Also change the thermostat out for a cooler one. You may also need a new radiator

Why not just run the temp gauge on the back of the passenger head? I know the drivers side is for the ecu. Also, I believe the standard driving car LS requires 1850cfm flow on the fans. if you still had heating issues make sure, if you dont have, a good 2 or 3 pass radiator. I know I have a 160 degree thermostat and fans kick on 1 at 180 and other at 190.

Hey Ambush drift, i couldnt help but notice your inlet and outlet pipes on the radiator appear to be on the same side? have you thought of modding it to opposite sides on the radiator (cut and shut) it might help with more flow. you might notice one side may be hotter than the other, maybe run a test first to see if that helps. all the best man! love the informative channel! wish i have a kid to build cars with in the future :D

That’s a really good point! The radiator is made for a KA24DE, and I’m sure it’s just not as effective for the LS3

Alan don’t just only run water in your radiator use coolant too cause it has stuff in it that will lubricate your water pump sealings and basically the whole water pump. This way your water pump will last longer.

Distilled water won’t rust it because there’s no minerals in the water. Run distilled water and water wetter or purple ice and you’ll stay cooled
