Your comment about disconnecting the battery before doing anything other than an oil change cracked me up. I went through a time when it was the 4th of July more days then not under my hood and one day I'd had it and yelled out, that's it from now on I'm disconnecting the battery even if all I'm doing is rotating the tires.

Love the real life issues they have in the video. And not like the most you see that people just have no issues working on a old truck. Great video I have to do this to my truck I have to replace the crankshaft seal on my truck and it's nice to see what I gotta do to get the radiator out.

Thanks! Glad it helped you and make sure to check our crank seal video as well when you need it.

Suggestion- get yourself a wheeled cart. this will enable you to store your tools on it while working on the truck. You won't lose your tools because you are not laying them on the engine. Also a magnetic tray allows you to keep all of your bolts & nuts in order so you don't have to hunt for them.

That breather on the crank case will really clog those radiators as well.

AC Delco makes a nice 12v li-ion 3/8 ratchet. Love mine. What I think makes it batter than the competitor is how beefy it is , Some people want a thinner head but with a thinner head come smaller parts. That and its brushless dc motor.

Great video! Sounds like an accident, but a higher pressure gives you a HIGHER boiling point, not lower. Water boils at lower points with lower pressure. At sea level (14.7 PSI) water boils at 212F, at 18 PSI, it boils at 222.4F.

I would zip block bag your bolts in categories and write on them with a sharpie what bolts are in each bag so you never forget

I had a buddy who learned the hard way to always unhook his battery he wasn't even doing anything that had to do with the batteries but he ended up grounding something and it melted his wedding ring around his finger they had to cut the ring off and he has a burn mark the whole way around his finger so I always unhook the batteries its that hard to set the clock or whatever if needed

16:02 Looks more like a seal on a turbo leaking into the intercooler and a leaking intercooler; as the front / intercooler side is Thoroughly covered caked, and the back (oil seal side) looks dry and clean behind the cake patch on the front.

Very well presented video and detailed explanation. Getting ready to put one in my '98 ram 2500. Just one comment and one question. From what I understand, Cummins recommends using only the red colored antifreeze with the NOT designation, espescially on aluminum radiators. My question is about the radiator overflow tank. When putting the antifreeze in, do you need to 'burp' the cooling system or do you just fill the radiator and the overflow to above the add mark and call it good? Maybe you guys have a short video addressing this.

Is this a 2 core or 3 core radiator. They list is as 3 core but I'm unsure. A lot of radiators for these trucks have 2 fat cores instead of 3. The 2 fat cores don't cool as good.

Seems a little ridiculous that you don't get new rubber isolators and bushings considering they are rubber and wear out at the same rate as the radiator. At darn near $800 bucks you would think mishimoto would think of that...
