Amen amen amen this is how we keep our young men from going to jail from getting in trouble giving them a structure all who see this video If you play an instrument doesn't matter what Hood you in share your talent and your time and may sound harsh it may sound cruel because you won't be getting paid for it but think of it this way I'm from DC a lot of guys that played in what we call GoGo bands was able to earn life long music career playing nightclubs festivals house party cookouts government venues such as the Mayors and so forth and Congress Congressman but well actually a congressman too of this area and they have made very good money they have sent their children to school and one they have some of them have given their talents over to their kids and put them up and playing music also and a lot of guys were able to come out of poverty because of playing instruments such as drums keyboards horns saxophones bass guitars leaked guitars tamales Congress put your child in the marching band get them to play an instrument it may not seem a lot to you now but they are a lot of people I know personally had it not been for music they would have not had the life that they've had I know of one story that I'm not going to mention because I don't have the right to tell his young man's story but his life started up very horrible but now he's playing for one of the major Acts in the music world the devotion of his grandmother she took him somewhere got him connected with some people come to find out this young man was a piano prodigy he is now playing on a major circuits making major money doing his thing you don't know what your kids capable of until you put them in the mix so my brothers and sisters instead of let's beating down our young people saying what they are what they aren't share your talents with them find out what they're capable of doing and let us as a community water that Talent so that they can have a life you young people you don't know what you're capable of until you allow somebody to help you some of you young ladies are some Dynamic beautiful singers some of you young men are some severe instruments and some of you guys get some amazing voices some of you are artists with your hands some of you are artists with your mind such as poetry pencil art painting Trust and Believe what you think is stupid you are an amazing young man and you are an amazing young woman do not allow anyone to take that from you God bless you guys for teaching these young fellas the love and the power of the conga instrument we know as ex slaves children from slaves that the congodrome in every drum that's come after it came from our ancestors in Africa this is part of our DNA part of our bloodline part of our culture do not be ashamed you as a child of a great people never let anyone take that from you God bless love from the heart power to the people

How my family would have love to play with you all. When we were younger our mother as a young woman use to play lead drummer with a company about 20 men in Chicago on Lake Michigan it just came naturally for the women of our family. I’m very curious what type of style it is because it’s not Cuban style. All I know is that this group lives somewhere in the East Coast in the US. I’m very interested in hearing their history because they sound great!

The style is a combination of different styles of drumming that we have fused together along with our own rhythms and patterns that we have blended. I guess you can call it Israelite Style drumming.

I'm from Puerto Rico and I have enjoyed this beautiful rhymic sound. Makes me want to be there with you all. I perceive that the little one between the two in the back is the background contra sound that keeps this rhythm going. "Pum pim pitim bum, pum pim pitim bum" You got to love this. Plus you are giving the Almighty all the glory! I love the way the speed picked up towards the end with the different stops. Wonderful! Amen and Amen to your family!
