I was also at this concert with a couple of college pals. We loved it! This was a great concert. The Who were absolutely on fire that night! It was live. It was organic. It was spontaneous in the true tradition of great concerts. What more could you ask for? I was especially happy to see them play the classic hits, but I was overjoyed when they played Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere and Getting In Tune which are two of my personal favorites. These guys truly do rock!

Zak Starkey is the only drummer who satisfactorily replaces Keith Moon and who can also play with John Entwhistle. Excellent rhythm section behind the inventive guitar-playing of Townshend and one of the best frontmen in Daltrey.

@@Pibb99 The fact that a additional musician has been in a band for many years does not change anything. The same happened to Pink Floyd, who had to put a hired bass player to replace Waters. It's very sad to lose Keith and John but Roger and Pete have too much music and talent to stop what they're doing. Keep rocking fellas. Thank you for posting.

It just sucks (imo) that Pete won't be fully appreciated as the Musical Genius he is until he passes away. There is a DVD entitled Who's Next. It's "the making of" type of video. It shows Pete endlessly getting the intro sounds to Baba O'Riley. Way before Digital. It took him forever to loop the sounds together. I found a copy at my local library.

Not the best Who set list by a long shot, even though it's a damn good performance. Take a look at the set lists from the 1979 tour, especially the 12/8/79 show in Chicago or the 9/79 shows at Madison Square Garden in NYC for a comparison. This set list, with a couple of exceptions like "I Don't Even Know Myself" and "Let's See Action", is too much like a nostalgia act reliving some of its highlights. That's fine in itself depending on what you are looking for, but don't pretend that it's an exceptional set list because it isn't.

After John departed, they lost the magical Who sound after this - just dont care so much for Ox's replacement Pino P never even tried to learn John's parts, but just stays in key and keeps the tempo...zzz

The fact remains that, with the sole exception of their 2006/2007 performances when they were promoting their brand new 'Endless Wire' material along with the standards, every Who tour from 1989 going forward has been a nostalgia exercise. The Stones are equally as guilty. Sure, both bands still sound great on stage and both bands are better than 99.9% of music that's been released since the mid-'80's. But unless the sets include new material, don't pretend that it's not nostalgia. It is. And to call 2000 the Who's best year ever is ludicrous. Better than 1969/1970 when they released the brilliant 'Tommy' and toured it ? Better than 1971, when they released and toured 'Who's Next' ? Better than 1973, when they released and toured 'Quadrophenia' ? Or better than 1979, when they proved that Keith Moon's recent death wouldn't stop them as they gave a series of ferocious shows that featured their most varied setlists ever ? Nope, don't think so. 2000 was enjoyable but not exceptional. While I don't like Led Zeppelin anywhere near as much as I do the Who and the Stones, I will give Zeppelin credit for one thing: they went out while remaining a top creative entity. No nostalgia touring for them.

Hace falta el quien fue el "lunático". El quien fue Keith Moon como baterista en años anteriores. El quien murió por excederse?

Yeah, Zack looks exhausted when playing WAY. His drumming is pedestrian, at best.

Wonderful show; wish the sound was better! Zack is a GREAT replacement for Keith…wish they’d found him when Keith died.

My friends and I had great seats for this show. This video is definitely from the palace in house video, the live mix was much better and louder. This was also the last timeJohn Entwhistle played Detroit before he passed away, so glad I got to see him on this tour.
