My grandma, Barbara Kimball, was principal horn in this orchestra and she recently passed. She was one of my main inspirations for playing horn and she gave me a few lessons when I was just starting horn back when I was 12 and I played for her a month ago before she passed and she was so happy to hear it and she's done some truly phenomenal things in her life and I aspire to be like her. I hope one day I can audition here once a spot opens and carry on her legacy! I'm at the Schwob School of Music studying Music performance and hopefully when this Covid stuff is over I can audition for some orchestras, maybe even Miami Symphony! I'm just working on my repertoire list of excerpts and contextualizing excerpts and things and I'm trying to be a part of as many virtual collaberations as I can do, and keep my chops fresh in some new ways I didn't have enough time to crunch in when I was in music school. At least a good thing came out of Covid which is practice time! I really like the sound of Miami Symphony orchestra, a lot of great history is here in this symphony. Bravo tutti!!
