That reaction was hilarious, I’m still laughing from when he said those were your field manuals 😂

I got a message from the chap early hours of this monring. Inside my head I though "Some cheeky bastard has copied my way of making them!" .... then I realised the cheeky bastard was myself! Not only where they mine, but he name checked the group too!

When I was issued dog tags in 2003 in the army they obviously did not have the notch and they are the same stamp as on this gentleman's tags of backwards punch, rearward stamping, if you will. However when I was working at the Army surplus store here in Buffalo New York they had an original machine from world War II era and proper tags so I sat at the machine and made up a pair. It was a front Punch or top stamp style. Quite a different look in comparison. Small detail I thought to observe. Lol

Isn't that a post-war Esbit stove? I thought the wartime ones had a straight break where the halves folded together. I do love the strap on the wrist compass - mine looks terrible compared to that one.

Silver dollar similar to the British Gold Sovereigns used for Escape and Evasion purposes?

that would make a lot more sense rather than any attempt to make a floppy cloth hat into a weapon
