Miss Marples Final Cases
June Whitfield returns as the deceptively mild spinster sleuth in three full-cast dramatizations. Specially broadcast to mark the 125th anniversary of Agatha Christie’s birth, these brand new dramas are based on three of her best short stories.
01 Tape-Measure Murder: When Mrs Spenlow is murdered in St Mary Mead, the village gossips all agree that her husband must have killed her - until Miss Marple is called as an alibi.
02 The Case of the Perfect Maid: Miss Marple investigates the problem of a lady’s maid who has been mysteriously fired- while also helping her crime writer nephew Raymond West to cure his writer’s block.
03 Sanctuary: Miss Marple and her god-daughter Bunch are horrified when they discover a dying man in the local church. Can Miss Marple deduce his identity - and his killer - from his last words?
First published in the collection Miss Marple’s Final Cases, these three delightfully clever tales will keep you guessing till the end.
Starring June Whitfield
Dramatized by Joy Wilkinson.
Directed by Gemma Jenkins

The foreword was unnecessary and frankly completley off putting, I thought I'd mistakenly clicked on a badly read audio book the DRAMA starts after 2 minutes and 54 seconds.

I agree, Agatha Christie does not need such an introduction. Now I will settle down with a cup of tea and listen to the plays.

No they have to put all of that first because other wise u tube will delete their channel for stealing material, you have to make sure that you are not claiming it as your own. . It’s weird how it works but it’s why channels like this have long introductions I don’t know why but it defeats the algorithm and prevents demonetisation.

Fast forward 3mins because there is horendous conflict between loud intense music and an unnecessary introduction. The music in other circumstances could be beautiful and the introduction, well meaning may be if interest to some listeners, but it's unwise to play both at the same time.

Kathyfugere The real eye opener of Agatha Christie, is the way everyone has servants and how dismissively they are treated. Before WW2 there were 4.2 million women in domestic service in the UK. Domestic servants even had to ask their employers permission to get married. This system broke down when 500,000 Soldiers died, not as bad as WW1 when a million soldiers died, and factories had female workers . See films like 'A million like us' with Patricia Roc and Eric Portman. It is a largely hidden history of working class people, that are the backbone of any nation.

I will check the other videos and see if you have removed this AI fluff from the beginning. If so, I will subscribe. Otherwise, it is awful to put something like that at the beginning of an Agatha Christie story where you have fine voices, not AI.

I much prefer the original: this dramatization is rather crass, cloying and soap-like with a yukky ending. Bunch is portrayed as rather a soppy fusspot, whereas in the original she is practical and clever. The intro is quite irritating.

Are you ready for Heaven? Have you ever lied, stolen used God's name as a curse word (O-M-G)? According to God's law, you're guilty. But wait, God loves you, he made a way out. God so loved the world that he gave his only son that whoever believes in him will not die but have everlasting life. John 3:16 Please think about it. Repent/believe before the rapture, before the one world government. Jesus died for you, live for him. Love
