Praise God that none of these young people actually had to suffer what our nation did to people during the Vietnam era. Many went through what they are depicting ... and never recovered. They died broken people! God Bless Clay and his era!

Why does Saigon never sleep at night Why does this girl smell of orange trees How can I feel good when nothing's right Why is she cool when there is no breeze Vietnam You don't give answers, do you friend Just questions that don't ever end Why, God, why today I'm all through here, on my way There's nothing left here that I'll miss Why send me now a night like this Who is the girl in this rusty bed Why am I back in a filthy room Why is her voice ringing in my head Why am I high on her cheap perfume Vietnam - hey look, I mean you no offense But why does nothing here make sense Why, God, show your hand Why can't one guy understand I've been with girls who knew much more I never felt confused before Why me? What's your plan? I can't help her - no one can I liked my mem'ries as they were But now I'll leave rememb'ring her When I went home before No one talked of the war What they knew from TV Didn't have a thing to do with me I went back and re-upped Sure Saigon is corrupt It felt better to be here Driving for the embassy 'Cause here if you can pull a string A guy like me lives like a king Just as long as you don't believe anything Why, God, why this face Why such beauty in this place I liked my memories as they were But now I'll leave rememb'ring her Just her

Ok. This kid has it. I am watching a bunch of this channel’s videos and the leading men all have fantastic vocals but I’ve been far less enthusiastic about most of their acting. I didn’t want to take my eyes off of him for a minute. Bravo. Well sang, well acted, fantastic job
@captcooper51592 жыл бұрын
Agreed! But shouldn't if be "... well sung..." Just making sure we use the right grammar

The singings amazing but what I'm most amazed at is the acting! I'm still not 100% sure he isn't actually Chris!!! He must be using a lot of support!

This is a truly unbelievable performance, a performance sustained throughout the entire production. And of course, he is almost of a similar age to which the character could have been, adding to the authenticity. Further, he is matched by Kim. It would be difficult to better the singing and acting of both, who make a perfect team singing and acting their hearts out in some gut-wrenching scenes. The very high performance standard of the entire cast (and orchestra) make this the best production from King's so far. They were deservably invited to present 'Les Miserables' on the West End; this production deserves similar recognition ─ all it lacks is the appearance of a helicopter, a totally understandable omission! [Oops - there is a helicopter. At this point I was distracted by something else when first watching this so thank you to Lisa (below) for pointing out I had written this in my review.]

@@lisagelfand4162 Yes, since writing that, I found the helicopter. When first watching, I was distracted by another matter at the time and was listening only - and only half listening at that. A bad slip.I'd forgotten I'd made that statement in my review. - now with an added note.
