I didn't understand why Mexico won at first but when you keep rewatching the entire thing you will notice that she was always poised. Her face screamed confidence all throughout and she did it effortlessly. Nothing special, just consistency. For the swimsuit competition, you just really have to have fun and be energetic but not too much that it comes off as reckless or exaggerated. As for evening gown, don't get distracted by the dress itself. It's how the woman carries herself. Elegant, sophisticated, queenly. Lastly, being the best at Q&A doesn't automatically mean you're the winner. The judges take into account everything from the very beginning. Both of Mexico's answers were just okay, nothing special either but again, she was poised while answering it. The rest of them answered with passion especially Peru, but I think it was her body moving too much while speaking that made her end up as 2nd RU. In the end, Mexico definitely didn't give as much of a wow factor but she really was consistent. She was subtle and natural.

Hi friends! I just want to correct something... Brazilian representatives usually are light skin, in all miss universe brazil history only 3 black woman won... And yes, it's sad since the 50% of the brazilian population isn't considered white people, beeing them "pardo" (not black but also not white) and black people. Brazil is the nation with a a lot of diversity and miscegenation, since we were colonizided for nations arround the americas, africa and specially europe. We also have a lot of emigrants from many parts of asia as Japan, Korea and China. So the best part of Brazil is because we dont have a specific "kind of brazilian beauty". But unfortunately many black and pardo girls and also asian descendants aren't encouraged or even receive the support to participate in beauty pageats here, but it is changing! We also have some beauty pageants here as the Brasil Coréia ( Brazil Korea) and the girl get the opportunity to participate in miss Korea and Miss Brazil WORLD. ( Miss brazil world 2015 for instance was korea in miss earth and brazil in miss world) sorry for the geography and history informations hahahaha

Alongside Janine Tugonon in 2012, Peru this year is one of the best Miss Universe queens we never had the chance to have. :( I guess we' re going back to the Trump Era. I'm disappointed IMG. :/ Happy for you, Mexico pero... wth. The judges better show us those scores. Very questionable judging, very low energy from the hosts, very poor lighting and camera panning, so many El Tocuyo queens this year... ugh... Thank goodness the next one's in December.
