I agreed 💯 Thailand answered both times. Thailand answer was clear and direct for a winning answers. Denmark answer would be 4th or 3rd runner up imo. Top final 2 should be between Thailand or Nigeria

Following your Dad’s theory about where candidates stand, there was someone who compiled that weird coincidences of the LED Screen’s color in the background during evening round, and the eventual winner’s evening gown always matches. And it checks out! Example: When Pia won in a blue gown, the LED was blue, when Catriona won in a red gown, the LED light was red, when R’Bonney won in a black gown, the LED was purple and black (all previous contestants since 2015 basically matched the LED) and then finally when Denmark won in a pink gown, the LED was pink! It’s a fun coincidence that harps back to what other winners say that you can do so much preparation but at the end of the day it’s Destiny.

21:43 Yes, from the 70s to the mid-90s, they would have the same group of judges for prelims and finals. This was changed sometime before 1999; hence that's why, on finals night, the host would usually say: "During the preliminaries a separate group of judges scored the contestants in...."

My only issue with Miss Latina USA is that it’s not fair for other ethnicities. We still haven’t had a fully indigenous Miss USA nor have we had a lot of Asian winners and no south Asian winners. Also it’s not fair to other countries with diverse populations to only have an American represent their culture. Why not Canada? Why not have a Miss Desi USA compete? Just too many things

Or Miss Black USA. I think it should be a Miss Universe Latina pageant like Reina Hispanoamericana but the winner doesn't get to walk the MU stage but can serve her reign with Miss Universe and the continental queens.

As a mother, a grandmother, and a pediatric mental health therapist, there is no way that a mother of school age children should ever compete. Winning this pageant would take the winner away from their children for a whole year. Is there anything worth (with the exception of military service) missing a year of a child’s life? I can tell you that any child would suffer from a mother being absent for a year. This is not a good change in the pageant.

8:17 Trust. All of us did NOT appreciate the "girls-in-one-horizontal-line" execution for the evening gown round at MU 2024. None of the ladies had their shining moment unlike the way they did during the swimsuit segment.

I firmly believe that Miss USA was purposely kept out of the Top 30 by the MUO. They do get that option, which is known. There is no way that Alma did not finish in the TOP 30. Now that being said, I was not a big fan at Miss USA and I did not have her winning Miss USA after watching the USA prelims, and was shocked when she did win. But, she was a polished contestant and like you said in your recap, Miss USA is almost always a strong competitor and is ready to compete at Miss Universe. I would have understood if she hadn't made Top 15/Top 12/Top 10, but not making a TOP 30 - get out of here. It's my opinion Alma was excluded purposely to send a message to the USA director and to punish them for the drama related to the prior Miss USA & Miss Teen USA resignations and pending law suits. Now that Miss Universe is no longer owned by a USA group, I think we can start to expect Miss USA being omitted or excluded. The documentary Cracks in the Crown is uncovering the mess of both USA and Miss Universe.

OK trying to share my thoughts and stay PC... Firstly, take USA away from Layla Rose, she will be the destruction of the Miss USA pageant. In regards to the MU admin, they need to stop the videos and learn to keep their mouths shut. The video with Osmel and Anne was totally inappropriate. and should not have happened. I was not surprised Alma did not make the top 30 because of all the stunning woman AND because it "seems" she had little to no support from her organization. My top three were Brazil, Colombia (neither making it) and Puerto Rico. Kudos to Denmark, a first time winner...she was fresh and unrehearsed which made her very relatable (not to mention drop dead gorgeous).

the bias in this video is insane. theres no need for a miss latina usa. in other countries girls are already allowed to compete under as a miss usa community. your fav queens like DR22', Albania, PR and Nigeria 19', peru 20' and multiple venezualans and pervians are all americans. Lets not forget that MUPR this year is also american

This year's Miss Universe was a disappointment. Stage was unimpressive, very few activities, the ladies were stuck in their hotel room, too much favoritism for some girls and several ladies got sick and had to go to the hospital. Mario did a good job but Olivia looked awkward in the beginning. After the Q&A portion I thought that Thailand was going to win but Denmark was the chosen girl from the beginning because they hadn't crowned a blond barbie in many years. This new org has many things to improve.

US does not run MU anymore, from now on, they have to earn placement and title. In the past, USA placement and winner were unfair several times! What about interviews? Just to verify Macaw, Japan, Nicaragua, Cambodia, Egypt and a few others really deserved placement, that would add some transparency to this decaying contest! 😡

I was at the pageant live, after USA did not make it to the top 30, you could tell Olivia and Mario facial expression change, including Zuri. Catriona had to stay positive. As an American, I was bummed out myself. Otherwise, it was a good show.

No offense, but this recap about Miss Universe only talk about 80% Latinas 20% other girls. And I beg to disagree about the continental queens, one of you mentioned that they're put out there becasue of the fan base. Are you pertaining to Miss Philippines? Seriously? Finland and Philippines performed well during swimsuit competition but they're robbed. The judges put almost all latinas in top 12. But we expected it since 7 out of all the judges are latinas latinos. 😂

I feel that the swimsuit competition exposes the flaws and the strength of the candidates. On the other hand, the gown competition hides the flaws of the candidates. I don't know if this was the reason the gown walk was eliminated. But at least that is one of my guess.

The opening introduction in the finals where the girls are saying only their country is ok... but it would have been better if they were in their national costumes and the editing could have been done better, just like Miss Universe 2001.

The possible reason for why during the introduction, they opted for not saying the name and age and just the country itself, is due to the airtime. Having 125 participating countries and imagine if everyone would say their name and age, it would probably consume most of the airtime. That’s also why the over all production seems so fast and rushed. During the announcement of top 30 or the first cut, they have a snippet of the girls but it was short, again it was due to the airtime. But considering this, i would prefer that they did not included this short recorded video introduction as it was an anti climax. It was unnecessary and the slow off beat music is so weird. The biggest fall down of this year’s production was the camera angles and cue. There are moments where in the hosts where doing their spills and yet the camera is focused on the stage. There are also moments where in you could hear the murmurs of the hosts, production crew on the mic whereas it was supposed to be off mic to prevent hearing unwanted noise.

I love Melissa but her description of Madison Anderson Berrios. She was heavily supported in PR. To this day her passion and dedication was supported throughout the island. To this day she had the heaviest send of to MU.

The worst edition of Miss Universe ever, its like we're returning to a Pandemic edition. Mexico failed in producing a glamorous pageant , girls were just selective in going out and they even advertised that Mexico will offer the best of the best by letting the girls experience the Mexico's gastronomy, white sandy beaches and etc.But they failed in that aspect and its purely business at all. Its really a huge downgrade.

The Mexican government did not sponsor this event lol it was sponsored by the organization itself. That's why the ladies didn't tour the country. There was no security for that because the government wasn't involved like last year the President of El Salvador was. Mexico didn't promise anything, it was the organization composed of many individuals from around the world including Venezuelans, Thais, and Filipinos too.

Everything was Miss PR and Miss Latin country on this podcast. I will say Miss PR is always a HIT OR MISS for evening gown and when made to top 5, they always fumble. Organization restructure needed and better training for PR! There needs to be a whole revamp of MUO. 30 - 15 - 5 X 2 for question answer was a no go. Too big of a drop from 30 to 15 and I didn’t need to see the same 5 girls answer another question. The lights, stage, camera angles, and show structure was crap. Less countries pls! These countries need to have better preliminary and final night gowns overall. I’m tired of the dinner, cocktail, prom, not floor length, gold/silver/rinestone type of gowns. Asian countries need to stop with the wings and I need better innovation from Venezuela. Translator was crap and poor Venezuela, no excuse for Peru not making it through top 5! They need to go back to Jojo Bragais for heel sponsor. Half the girls were dehydrated and hospitalized because they had no water/no room service, and only left their rooms for breakfast, dinner, and rehearsal, or if they were from a popular country to events because of threats against them due to the owner/people wanting to off him. Just a disappointment!

Throughout this episode, Puerto Rico was mentioned repeatedly. While I have a deep appreciation for miss Puerto Rico 2024 and believe she performed well, the other host's frequent references to Puerto Rico (because she's from that country) became somewhat distracting during this overall pageant review.
