I was in New Orleans attending the Miss Universe Pageant!!! I live in Long Beach, Mississippi so I am an hour away from the city!! There was a Philippine Delegation (25) sitting in front of me. When Miss Philippines was NOT announced for the Top 16, They left!! I feel so very concerned for Miss Philippines-these were the comments that I heard-"It's over for the Philippines!" "The Philippines will never come back from this!!" "Miss Philippines, we still love you!!" "What is the Philippines going to do now!!" "This Miss Philippines ruined everything!!" Miss Philippines had so much hype arriving and I feel she believed all of the hype and forgot what she was here for!! She did great in everything but evidently Miss Philippines really did Not do well in interview. Her nerves must have gotten the best of her. Miss Universe wanted a Transformational Woman and now they have one!! MISS USA!!!! I also think you and your babies and your husband are just adorable and so very precious!!!

Miss Philippines did not live up to her hype . Since she arrived you can see how nervous and uninvolved she was. Her strength was her stage performance but she did just fine in that . Latinas and usa just slayed this year in prelims and other spots were taken by girls with strong comm skills and advocacy.

I mean when the Philippines ends up as a clapper now we need more clarity on the interviews. Canada’s contestant speaks 4 languages and has a double major. The interviews definitely made a mayor impact. Usa Teaches sewing classes, Puerto Rico is an Aerospace engineer who teaches Stem to little girls. Being pretty and doing social work the year of your reign is not gonna cut it anymore.

As a Filipino, I agree with you. I was criticized when I pointed out the weaknesses of our representative and branded them as an outsider. Many Filipinos overhyped our candidate and overlooked the things that need improvement. They always tend to look for positivity and refuse to acknowledge the words that appear to be negative. And they become mad when these delusions do not turn into reality.

Blooming? Don't you know India's history at Miss Universe? India is the original powerhouse at Miss Universe and has always been the flag bearer for Asia. But it was after organisation change that India took time to recover after 2002. We have a 11year long streak from 1992-2002 (any delegate not less than top 10, 3 runner up, 2 crowns in that period) but after that we place here and there but it's only from 2019 we have risen from sleep as the original Asian powerhouse.

I’m Greek American therefore part of my heritage, USA always places and Greece never places so I never support them. But this year I did have few sentimental favorites. From them, I really would like to talk about which is India. I never understood how some people underestimated her. To me she was always the top 5 worthy. If she really had made it to the top 5, she would’ve eaten up those Q&. My problem is these two always tend to ignore her. Not to mention how they said USA was the best answer when Dominican and Venezuela were answering in another language and Venezuela speaks 4 languages. They train and learn English 9 months prior and are able to compete better than most native English speakers. The lack of awareness and entitlement from most Canadians/ USA people. These people can barely speak one language and have the most to say. We all know that if they answer in their native language they have less chance to win. Non native English contestants have to work 5 times harder than them.

I am a Filipino-Australian and have always supported the Philippines on any international competitions. Unfortunately, after watching Celeste's prelim performances, I knew it was game over for her. She lacked the energy, enthusiasm and didn't show much charisma like the other candidates. Having a nice walk and wearing a pretty gown is just not going to cut it anymore. I think it's time for MUP to go back to their drawing board and rethink about their next strategies. I remember watching Pia and Catriona's prelim performances, I knew there and then that they were going to win the crown. They brought their A game even during the prelims. They had a lot of great energies and they are both smart ladies.

I am sad Celeste did not place but what's important is how Filipinos accept defeat. We accepted defeat gracefully we did not boo the show unlike other nations that did so in the mid and late 2000 editions. We have the next year to look forward to. Celeste deserves better. As a Filipino and a pageant fan as well, I know that someday our consecutive winning streak will end, but I did not see it happen in Celeste's era. She's one of the strongest candidates we have sent to MU. This is so sad. Anyway, we are strong and resilient. We are going to rise and come back stronger. Still proud of CELEST ✨👑 MUPH has to learn from this experience and change their "know when to peak" strategy. Give your best all the time. Do not hold back.
