Chin State in Myanmar is composed of different minor Chin ethnic groups with different traditional costumes.There are about 53 races in Chin State like Hakha Chin,Zomi Chin,Mizo Chin,etc.Some Chin races live in both Myanmar and Northeast India.This dress is the traditional one of Chin.

The dress she wore on the competition was given by the chin community of america because she have lost her dress of the bamar ethnic.She represent Hakha(Lai) chin state on Miss universe,so no she doesn't wear the dress from Mizoram or north east india in any way.

She wear Chin dress 2-3 types don't say it's mizo or Lai or zomi or hmar or zo tung etc.. it's CHIN DRESS it can be from India/it can be from chinland. Don't be so serious about this.! Btw Chin isn't one tribe mean. It's 53 tribes In the name of Chin ethnic. So u can call urself if u r Matu say "I'm Matu" If u r hmar say "I'm Hmar" If u r Lai say "I'm Lai" If u r Thado say "I'm Thado" If u r Naga say "I'm Naga" Etc........ #I mean u don't have to call yourself "Chin" for serious. Chin is the name of 53 tribes. So to be sure call yourself in your ethnic name (IT'S FREE)
