Literally one of the freshest Miss Venezuelas in recent years. She’s so relatable, energetic but not exaggerated, relaxed but not complacent, eloquent but not prideful. Her experiences around the world have made her a well-rounded person. She is an example of someone who doesn’t necessarily need to win Miss Universe because she certainly has an influence that is much bigger; she could very well be president of Venezuela someday. Congratulations, Amanda, on a job well done! You definitely caught the eye of the universe! ❤

Sushmita Sen said in an interview that the moment her name was announced as the winner, the first RU celebrated as if she had won, cuz she was so happy for her. The lesson she learned from that is this woman didn't need to win MU to learn important life lessons like generosity of spirit, she was already a winner. Sushmita, however, did! That's how I feel about Amanda's situation tbh. A crown was not going to add or subtract anything from her character, she can forward her message to the world regardless.

Absolutely love Amanda, she was perfect from start to finish. Of course I was disappointed that she didn't win but I'm very happy for her anyways, she demonstrated why she deserved to place as high as she did.

The reason behind her being the 1st runner-up becomes clearer to me now. In the context of the Miss Universe competition, success is not solely determined by an individual's ability to talk about themselves. Instead, the focus is on transformational leadership and the candidates' advocacy, emphasizing their capacity to make a meaningful impact on others. While self-expression is undoubtedly important, the Miss Universe platform places a premium on contestants who not only articulate their personal stories but also demonstrate a commitment to advocating for positive change and using their influence to bring about transformation in the lives of others. This shift in perspective highlights the broader scope of the competition, where contestants are evaluated not only on their individual qualities but also on their potential to inspire and lead in a way that positively affects the world around them.

I understand and speak English perfectly, but isn't my first language, and when you're facing a stressful moment, you can only think in your first language, and then your mind automatically translate it to the language you should speak, isn't an easy thing, and even when you speak a language fluently, many times there are phrases or sentences that you understand it on a way totally different than the English speaker wanted or meant. I've been there, with English interviews for a job and i totally understand that fear of messing up things, with a language you're always learning.

Wondering about the interpreter during the finals....
@Only4ever79

Why did she use the interpreter service during the finale when she's well travelled, converses reasonably er more than reasonably well in English and handled an entire interview with panel in English. Weird!

Beautiful and Nice personality but using a translator in the Finals Q & A was cheating. She is obviously fluent in English. She unfairly had an extra time. Against MS. USA and Dominican Republic. I would have put her as second Runner Up.

Hey ! Well let me tell you something. My first language is Spanish, I spoke that language for 15 years of my life. When I moved to the US I learned English and I understand it very well and read it very well. Now I am 22 my English has gotten better.However, when I’ve had to present in front of my classmates, nervousness takes over me and I have to take many pauses for them to understand me well. I also tend to forget how to say certain words when I’m nervous. I can’t imagine how intense was this interview for all of the girls on the stage where people around the world were seeing them . And I know that she has to think in Spanish before expressing herself in English because I do it every time, which is hard. So what she did was the right thing to do, you never know how are you going to react to a certain situation ( in this case answering questions where many many people are watching and are ready to judge you ) ❤

That's your story. Not relevant to the point I'm making. You're going off tangent. I'm not saying public speaking is not difficult. I'm saying that extra time via translator is a form of cheating. Compose your thoughts and try again. Unlike the contestands on stage, you actually have time. No pressure. No excuse to be nervous and incoherent. Now, Tell me again why it's not cheating and support your argument.

No wonder she only came 2nd to Miss USA. Miss Venezuela came across more princess-y than queenly in my view - meaning she lacked gravitas in her responses. I found that Ms. Dudamel undermined whatever she was communicating with (nervous?) finger pointing and some kind of a body dance - as if she was simply having a lighthearted banter in a mall with her millennial peeps and not answering the probing questions of the MU selection committee. But i like that she was smiling all the time and exuding lots of charm, hence she was pleasant to listen to, with a good level of the English language. Venezuela should send her next to Miss Charm 2024.

Even though she didn't win, she will do amazing things and represent her country well. Having the title isn't everything. But I wish Miss Venezuela supporters would stop bashing R'Bonney for winning....I don't think Miss Venezuela would promote it condone the cyber-bullying. Please use your energy and try to do something more productive and positive.
