Happy to see that even in the Miss USA pageant, R'Bonney brought her Filipino roots through her fashion. Wearing a modernized Filipiniana dress. Even her national costume and evening gowns during Miss Universe were done by Filipino designers. Don't get me wrong. She's still Miss USA, not Miss Philippines! And the first Filipina-American to win the crown. I believe that there were several contestants in this batch with Filipino blood.

If I’m being honest, as someone who’s competing in the system. It all truly feels like a big money grab. I have spent so much money just towards the people who run my state pageant. $800 in ad page, $500 to enter the pageant, a $200 hair and makeup fee (which doesn’t include fhe $1500 I’m paying to the actual hair and makeup artist ) plus if you win they don’t pay for travel expenses. I’m praying that in the end it worth but from what it feels like miss USA and miss teen USA have just gone downhill.
