Jennifer Hosten and Africa South were rather regal. Hosten's gown would still work in an international competition today. I also liked UK, USA and Yugoslavia (though she tripped). They were rather princely too. I've always liked that gesture of picking up the skirt to walk. It shows off the contestant's grace.

What happened with most contestant wore white dresses? Was it compulsory or why? Apart from the catwalk which wasn't discovered yet that time, the other contestants who wore bright colors like Grenada, Srilanka, India, Yugoslavia, Guyana looked stunning and shown up. One more thing, what was the ribbon for and why did they put it on the center of the gown? That was so distracting. Didn't they already given the number on their wrist?
