Thank you for doing these videos! ❤ Exploration is a huge part of which games I really love. I also just immediately dislike games where you can't choose your character or customize them and you're stuck being this one specific person. They should at least add a choice of which gender (or no gender) to be! Idk I just immediately can't get into a game like Wylde flower unfortunately.

The only farming game I bought this year was Fae Farm ... I think. And I love it! I also tried the demo of Harvestella and just had no fun at all. But I'm grateful they had a demo. More games should do that on consoles! Because it's wayyy easier to decide which games you want to buy. There are so many games out there I could love, but I don't know because there's no demo available. Watching gameplay is good too, but it's still another world to play the game by yourself.

Harvest Moon(SoS): Animal Parade was overall my favorite in the series. It's on the Wii. It would make a great remake or even HD remaster. Harvest Moon(natsume): The Winds of Anthos was pretty good. Natsume is finally making their Harvest Moon a decent farming sim series in its own right. Fae Farm I just went through too fast to enjoy it long. Palia I enjoyed, and love the cozy farming sim MMO experience, but it was lacking in content but will definitely play again when they inevitably add more content. I'm gonna stop typing before I make an entire college essay out of all the farming sims I have played.

Loved Harvestella so much. And honestly the fact that my farm was this haven that I could just stay on and chill and ignore whatever was going on outside was awesome. I'm a completionist so I loved that there was a big journal to show what all I'd made and what I still need. It was so beautiful. I actually tried to make some of the food. I kept getting excited as more and more of the story was unveiled. Currently on my second playthrough with Coral Island which I watched for and contributed to and was so happy when it came out. I played early access and got all the while to marriage and babies but now that 1.1 is out I choose to start a new character and enjoy it all over again and having already had 4 years in I actually won the 1st year Harvest festival! Wylde Flowers and Sun Haven have been in my wishlist for a while and this video has made me likely to snag them next. I might get Sun Haven for my daughter. It looks like something she would love.

Speaking of X Seed (and it’s not farming but “cozy” I guess and it sometimes fall into similar lists- avoid Silent Hope. I was SO excited for this game, preordered the day 1 physical pack… it’s not good. It’s a glorified mobile game. It gets so boring. But I LOVED Harvestella. I liked that it was farming just to get you through the dungeons and it game you something to do between dungeons. It wasn’t crazy hard combat, I loved it. Dragon Quest Builders, DQ Treasures and DQ Monsters are awesome. Roots of Pacha has been a blast!

I loved Harvestella as well. You have to play for a bit, and then the friends you meet on the way are endearing. Absolutely the best story! Yep - did not like RF5 and SOS:AWL. Didn’t like the first Doraemon. LOVED the second one and cried my eyes out. (Cried at the end of Harvestella too. Which by the way, your farm gets you money which gets you weapon upgrades. Food and juice are extremely important in this game.). RF3 was so nice to play after the depressing AwL. I like to play JRPGs like SOS, Harvestella, Doraemon, and the RF4&3.

I really enjoyed Dinkum, and played it fairly early on. However I felt I'd seen all of the gameplay loop before more content was added. When I tried to go back, it felt like a grind to get to point of seeing new things, and I wasn't as excited to play through it again. I also got into Roots of Pacha, which again was good fun while it lasted, but it didn't feel well balanced, and things seem to take a lot of time to get going. I haven't gone back to that to see what's changed. I put a lot of time into Graveyard Keeper but got burnt out on that because it really became a grind to get anywhere, and a lot of the mechanics never really felt well explained. All that said, I'd gladly recommend all three games.

I haven’t played My time at Sandrock/Portia on Switch, exclusively PC. I have a custom PC that runs games like AFOP and other high-processing games so I don’t run into any bugs. I hope after their done with My time at Sandrock’s release, they try to respec those two games for Switch or take it off the market. For me, I’m not so great on the Witch of Fern Island. It has potential but looking for all these ingredients with no idea where or what they are is exhausting. I wished they added a feature where there’s a description on where to find the ingredients if it’s needed for a request.

How MUCH I love when those type of games are released for consoles as a physical version (not digital). Their boxes are wonderful, the cover art is amazing. And it is very sad to see that many of those companies, especially indies, won't proceed to release them physically. We have seen some games like Portia, Stranded Sails, Doraemon, Story of Seasons etc having their physical releases and it is a joy to own. I really hope that many other games (like Roots of Pacha, Everdream Valley etc) get released physically for consoles

Personally I really dislike Graveyard keeper. It's such a shame because the dead body gameplay is fun - but it's just so inaccessible. I spent more time on guides looking up what various things do, than I did in the game. There is such a lack of tutorials and explanations in that game that it really disappointed me. Two of my friends also had the same gripe, they wanted to like it but got so lost and stuck that they just gave up. I toughed it out until the end of the game, but I wouldn't recommend it and I definitely won't be playing it again.

I'd like to recommend the game "Dave the Diver" here! Fun addicting gameplay loop that also has a main story to follow. The game isn't that much of a "farming" game, since most of your farmed ingredients are sea creatures that you kill/capture (although you do unlock a farming area about halfway through the game to grow ingredients). You then use your fish/ingredients every night to sell at your sushi bar, and the more rare/exotic the fish, the more you can sell them for. There's also a decent amount of combat along with boss fights, but the game is very charming and the 2d pixel animations are great

I now live in Yogyakarta, Indonesia(also the birthplace of Coral Island lol) and loves watching Doraemon and Crayon Shin-Chan, but as also a westerner from USA, I can understand why you didn't like it. It's a very niche crossover game and you will miss a lot of the in-game references and jokes and generally just confused playing it if you are not familiar with the anime/manga.

@Zodia19511 ай бұрын
Honestly I wouldn't recommend My Time at Sandrock for the PC either IF your PC is not up to par. My PC isn't the recommended type. It was somewhat playable in early access, but for some reason, after the full game released, the speed is HORRENDOUS, I can't play it anymore which stinks since I was enjoying it (it Ranked 3rd on my Steam Replay for the year for a reason). This is why I enjoy videos like this because I do love hearing people's opinions. I personally would put Rune Factory 5 in the advance category because there are things about farming that I never had to worry about like I do here- weather ruining my crops being one thing. Plus the way you upgrade everything felt SO grinding. I did love the game initially, but the grinding aspect and the slow pacing really just got to me and I stopped playing it. I will try to return to it at some point because I'd like to finish the main story and get married at least because the story and chars are great, but yeah the farming aspect is just not for me. One game I am looking forward to returning to next year is my old reliable, Stardew Valley because I am hoping 1.6 will come out next year. I am patient though so if it doesn't come out next year, it's fine, I have that cookbook that comes out next Spring to give my SDV fix lol. Out of these Coral Island is the one I recommend the most. I'll be curious if it does unseat SDV as my fav farming game. I am not going to fully judge it yet since the full story isn't out, nor all ALL of the marriage candidates available yet. Sun Haven is #1 on my bucket list, it's for sure going to be my Christmas gift to myself while Steam Games are on sale lol. I'll also get Wylde Flowers too as my Switch game, but I am torn because I want that Princess Peach game . . . . We'll see.

The characters are so boring. Their environments are so boring. The gameplay is so boring and repetitive and I love repetitive gameplay , but this is on another level. 😂

Howdy Bubbles, I would offer up a fun cozy farming game called Roots of Pacha ^^) but fav farming game is going to be Stardew Valley if were not talking farming sim22 lol. Travelers Rest has been really fun too and i love Graveyard Keeper as well as Coral island :) All good cozy games with farming hehe Harvestella is currently sitting unplayed in my steam collection

Hi! I reviewed Roots of Pacha. It is an innovative game but sadly, it wasn't the one for me. I go into more details here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mWbYnpqjoaqBiKM

It's been over five years since Dragon Quest Builders 2 was released, and I'm still waiting for #3. When, Square Enix??? WHEN???????? 😭😭😭

I didn't care for the Harvestella demo...just didn't click with me. I've heard so many people recommend Dragin Quest Builders 2 but I don't like the art style. I didn't play many farming games this year besides Ooblets which I love. I am curious about Moonlight Peaks and looking forward to playing their new demo!

My Time at Sandrock was (still is?) broken as crap on PS5..... and I loved it. The game is fine, and reloading usually fixes any bugs you come across... till they happen again xD. Harvestella.... for a company that just poops out games left and right was a charming game and very unexpected. Was it lack luster? Very much. I really think this game could have been great if they expanded what you could do farming wise. That being said, I loved the characters and the story, but the main mechanic of it being a "farming sim" really wasn't there. I felt it was more Final Fantasy than even recent Final Fantasy games.

I know it's such a cliche answer, but Stardew Valley will always be one of my go to farm sim games. Rune Factory 4 is one I go back to a lot, albeit normally the Special edition on the Switch now.

I also have harvestella and i thought i was the one who ddnt know how to play this game bc having to go back home every night in a middle of a fight when u re supposed to go further and further and then pouf! U collapse , and what u did all day is lost, u have to do it all over again, hence i never crossed that stupid canyon bc i ddnt have the upgraded tools to repair the bridge etc etc.... aaarghl!!!! So i m glad it s not just me ! Plus since it feels like a rpg i think that s stupid that u have to go back home...

I agree with u about harvestella🥲 the story is so good, the graphic is fantastic but i just dont get it why they have to include the farming aspects🥲, and we cant even interact with other villagers such as the blacksmith, general store girl, etc and have more conversation with them (for me its important especially in farming sim) unless there is a cut scene and i was dissapointed by that:(

I feel like Sos:aWL is specifically for people who wanna play AWL for some nostolgia but setting up your old gamecube or an emulator is just too much effort. I played the shit out of it and loved every minute. But its not an ideal game for someone who doesn't have a pair of nostolgia goggles

i'm a sucker for simple farming games, There are somethings i don't like about SoS AWL, one: that is very linear, Two: i hate that i had to say goodbye to one of my favorite characters (if you know you know T-T). I love replaying Year One of that game so much, i don't think i actually finished a full run of AWL hahahaha

Kynseed is bad in some ways since it's not finished, even though it has been released. This was true since I stopped playing it since, wait a sec. 1 1/2 years ago? Damn! They might have actually added the missing content. A large issue with the game is that you can pass time, which resulted in everyone dying out. NPCs did not breed, so eventually die out. The game back then also didn't have an ending of any kind. I can't recall all that much about the game besides how fiddley it was to work specific professions. You could own all of them if you wanted, and hire staff to run them. I'm going to have to check it out again to see what they've done with it.

DQB 2 is a very good game. Fae Farm, Well, I liked Fae Farm at first but I got sick of it after finishing that fiery cave, I forgot what it's called. I didn't like how I had multiple houses to decorate and barns to attend in different areas. I find it very tedious. I'd rather be focusing on one area. Even if there are portals that can take me all over the map, I still don't like it.

Stories of Seasons stink. Stick by your guns. Hokko and Harvestella -- also agree, OK but not great. I would LOVE a fleshed-out RPG where you had to run the farm well or your characters have no way to rest, recover, nor make stat gains. And you need walls and villagers who are healthy enough to repel invaders. Jeez, this is starting to sound like a great game! I'll let you know when it comes out.

I heard Big Farm Story was just bland, so that's why nobody talked about it. Garden In is a cozy check-in game :) Dinkum is a perfect Animal Crossing alternative! So fun with friends. Travellers Rest is getting so much content that I feel it'll get BIG soon! I share opinions with you on a lot so I may give RF5 a try. It's on sale, like everything else right now lol. I liked Yonder more than Grow. It's more open. Kynseed is getting a MEGA update next year, which apparently will change a ton of the gameplay. The mini games alone are so fun tho; Cooking is the best 😂 I'm sure you're tired of me commenting about it Bubbles but my sleeper hit of the year was Cornucopia! So if anyone reads this far, check it out! Sorry for the long comment, I just wanted to second some of your opinions lol. Love the videos ❤
