Evening Neilo and thanks for tuning in 😁😁 I've not been over your channel for a while, I've not been listening to much music, and when I do it's usually some obscure 80's band - you know me, I'm a punk at heart 😎 Off to see The Damned next week, original line-up as well, so that should be good. It was a cold old camp this one - I haven't had time to edit the camp footage - just the tent review. Really busy at work and I'm running out of hours in the day :-( But it's a good tent and I got it for less than half the RRP, so happy days :-)

Aye, it's not a tent I would expect to see you in Kev - too big and heavy for the type of mountain camping you do. I'll hopefully get to take it up a hill before the year's out though, see how it does in a breeze 😉😁

Glad you like it Nick - I'm very impressed with it after my first night in it. It's a really good looking tent with nice liveable space for one. We'll have to see how it fairs up a hill on a windy night though 😉🏕️

It’s a decent looking tent, good colour, good weight for the tentage you’re getting. Nice inner height at 105cm. Inner pitch first is usually fine IMHO as they go up so fast. Wonder how much you got it for 🤔 Are we going to see it t more than the Mountain Star though?! ATB, G 👍

First impressions are very favourable Graham - but I'll need to see how it copes up a hill with a bit of a breeze 😉I'm not convinced that the pole configuration will keep everything solid and in place....time will tell. It's a nice tent though - in a good looking colour, with an excellent space to weight ratio and good internal storage options. I haven't found any patch yet, but there was a small greasy patch on the bathtub wall and a few spots of grease on the mesh door. Unsure if it's a keeper - because you know I love my Mountain Stars ;) lol ATB, DVS :)

It probably wasn't the right tent to bring out in those temperatures 🥶 but it did alright, and first impressions are very favourable. It's got a great space to weight ratio 😊🏕

Yeah I'm surprised there's not much about it online Andrew - it was the same with their Krypton tent, which was a bit of an anomaly as well. First impressions are very favourable, but it'll need to be taken up a hill on a breezy night to see how it fairs in the real world - mind it took a good few hefty gusts pitched where I was the night I did the review vid, and hitting the tent at the head end it stood stock still with very little flappage. I can imagine those doors would bend in drastically without hiking poles to brace them tho if the wind changed...

Im lovin the tent Donna, did you find the repair patch ? Dont think i saw it in the vid unless i missed it ?? Also did you get it from the vango recycle/repair web page shop ? As ive been looking on there quite a bit lately ....sorry for all the ??😂😂

Hya Mick - no I haven't found the patch, but there was a small greasy stain on the bathtub wall, and a few greasy spots on the mesh of one door - so maybe they meant a greasy patch lol. And yes, it was from Vango's site - it's the best deal I've ever got from there, usually they're mostly trying to shift old Soul 200's and Starav's and Nevis'. I think this tent may be a keeper. It's lightweight and stealthy, I really like it. But it needs to be tested on a windy night up a hill 😉

Hey ive got the Radon 1 as my summer tent if I'm hiking. I like inner pitch as its tight, I like the simplicity of this tent.

I've saw a few YT vids on the Radon 1 - one vid in particular - Sole Trail from Ireland - his Radon 1 collapsed in high winds. This Radon 2 feels a little 'loose' when you press down on the cross pole, but if it's braced with hiking poles that would solve that. It's a good looking tent in a lovely stealthy colour. Inner head height is excellent, as is internal storage and the porch area's are generous. I'm looking forward to testing it out in high winds - it took a few strong gusts on this camp with very little movement. Just saw that you've upped a Storm Star vid - I'll watch it tomorrow Lesley :)

@donnavansenior Ah yes I saw that Sole Trail vid... but pitched properly mine been good in winds. Yes I chose it as it's good head height which is what I need in a tent as I'm 90cm sitting height! I have done 3 camps already in the StormStar, love the luxurious of it. Have put hair bands on those door loops so.much easier. It's nice of you if you watch my StormStar vid, filmed that last night in Storm Bert.

A little hint - I use bog standard cheapo clothes pegs on the doors - plus clothes pegs come in handy for lots of other stuff - but they keep the doors rolled back nicely, and they're very quick to operate. Everyone hates those silly small door toggles/loops.

@donnavansenior yes! I use clothes pegs for quick door tie back on most of my tents, most have faffy doors or don't hold back tight enough! I often forget the pegs though 😄

Good summer tent not too windy weather. Light tent, spacious. The main thing is not to be blown away by the wind in the mountains and didn’t blow away the resident. It's better not to freeze . Good warm nights✨ PS: Weight everywhere -1,8 ???

Hi Procha - the tent is 1.6kg trail weight - which I always go by. Trail weight just means the weight of the tent and poles, not the bags and pegs. If you weighed it with the bags and pegs then it would be 1.8kg. It's a nice tent, I like the dark green colour, and it has a great space to weight ratio. Storage options in the inner are excellent, as is the head height. It'll make a good stealthy 3 season tent - but obviously I've yet to test it in windy or bad weather conditions. The full mesh inner does make it a colder tent, but I'm used to the cold living in the north of England 😂🥶😂

Nice! I like the look of that, it appeals to my stealthy nature, and it looks fairly spacious for one. Light weight to carry, and quick n easy to put up. Too old now to care about 4 season camping, I'm just gonna settle for 3 now, and preferably when it's not raining (or snowing, but I don't mind frost). I'm getting (gone!!) soft, and everything aches too much these days. I'll leave it to you young lasses (n lads) to enjoy the winter joys......😂🤣😂 🥶🏕🌨

After the night I put in when this review video was taken - I think I'm getting too old for freezing cold camps as well 🥶😬😂 It was brass cold, one of my coldest camps ever, not helped by the fact that I had to retreat to the tent at t-time due to the high winds blowing sparks from my firepit across the forest - I didn't want to start any unintentional fires... It's a decent tent mind Geraldine, good space to weight ratio, ample storage and it's a good looking stealthy beast. Time will tell how it fares up a hill in a hoolie - I'll hopefully get to test that out before I get my new knee in January and go on the missing list for a few months...
