The choice of a little-known Stan Rogers song is a highlight of this video

Great trip log. good to see the whitewater paddling. We did a similar route in 2018 and it was awesome.

I was a junior ranger at Wrong Lake near Chapleau about 43 years ago and one of the jobs we had that summer was to fly deep into the bush and paddle back to Big Missinaibi for two weeks, clearing every portage along the rivers as we went. Long hard days but beautiful country.

Wow what an experience! We are headed back up this summer…

So fun to watch! Love the frantic backpaddling and the swamped canoe shots. You guys are hardcore, no airbags! (and tell dude in the black helmet to do up his PFD!) Thanks for sharing Neil. Maybe this will be me next summer :)

Awesome video. I did the first half of the Missinaibi with a buddy back in '95. This makes me want to return.

Great Video! Great river! Thanks for sharing. The swamped canoe in Wavy looked hilarious. Did you have Mice problems on Alice Island? They ate into two of our tents. We ran it from Missanabie to HWY 17. I would probably do it that way again.

Nice water level. We're heading here on July long weekend! What did you do for shuttles?

Nice! We used MHO Outfitters, tho im told they dont do them anymore. Theres another one in Mattice. See kzbin.info/www/bejne/iHXPqpiLh7GhpMU

@Neil Bouwer thank you! MHO would only do barclay to the Brunswick bridge, but we want to go all the way to mattice. Sounds like we'll take the midnight train to Peterbell. Shorter means more time to play anyway 😊

Lovely video. And the music is great. As I am very familiar with the route...if I can ask...where did the serious medical conditions happen, and where were the alternate takeouts?
@ndginpq4 жыл бұрын
We first had a dislocated shoulder in a rapid, and had to decide whether to backtrack a day to peterbell (knowing passenger train wasnt running) or continue a few days down the river and take out at Camp 95 (where we knew another group was shuttling out from) rather than continuing to Mattice as planned. We decided to slow down and take out @camp 95. During the following days, another paddler developed a strange infection from a leech bite (blistered, foot swelled, red streaks up the shin). Luckily we packed antibiotics which did the trick after a couple days. It was also good we had the Garmin!
