Does the F-35A (fighter jet) that was in a deadly spin not count in these crashes? That happened in January 2025, in Alaska Elision's Air Force Base. The pilot ejected and did survive. There is crazy video of the F-18 spinning crashing and blew up on impact. If we count that as a crash, then this is the 4th plane crash in 5 weeks.

I'm not sure that there are really more planes going down lately, it's just that the one in DC was crazy and caught the attention of the news. Then the crazy one in Philly happened and now it seems like the news is suddenly focusing on plane crash stories. This one in Alaska is said but isn't as uncommon as you might think, it's just that crashes of that nature don't normally make big news.

The temperature was so cold that seawater froze in the bay. It was a problem with icing on the wings.

This is what I told my wife when she told me a plane was missing, their deicing system probably failed, that's caused quite a few crashes over the years.

Temperature and pressure are relative. The most critical point of icing is warmer temperatures, not extreme cold

Bering air is an incredible airline company. They saved my life and rescued me from the sea landing a small chopper on a piece of ice to rescue me I have flown on them several times. I have nothing but the most respect for the Owners,pilots, and the staff. My heart grieves for the families and communities affected in this accident.

In 2005 a Cessna 208 Caravan crashed after encountering icing conditions shortly after takeoff from Winnipeg. This aircraft had been fitted with Cessna's "Ice-Protection Equipment Package" including pneumatic de-icing boots on the wings, horizontal and vertical stabilizer leading edges, and electric heated propeller blade anti-icing boots. Yet it stalled and crashed due to icing. In their final report (A05C0187) the Canadian Transportation Safety Board recommended that no Cessna 208 Caravan operate in anything worse than "light" icing conditions. Since 1990 there had been no less than 20 Cessna 208 Caravan crashes in similar circumstances around the world.

The ATC did check on the helicopter a second time because he thought they were getting a little close. He just didn’t ask the right question. Should have said “Do you see them to your left at 10 o’clock?” Or whatever their position was to the helicopter.

There're no burn marks on the fuselage or the snow and no explosion signs even though it's crushed and the tail is ripped completely off unlike the Philly crash so my 2 cents is going on the plane ran out of fuel somehow whether it leaked out or didn't get filled before takeoff.

Looks like filler in her lips. Being on TV is a competitive business. Especially for women, because men can have lines and wrinkles and still look good. Women are expected to look fresh and smooth.
