The BEATITUDES spoke of “BLESSEDNESS” and most definitely the Lord Jesus wanted His chosen people Israel to enter into that BLESSED LIFE. That BLESSED LIFE however could not take place until they had placed themselves under the Lordship of Christ.
Because of their rejection and unbelief the INTENDED BLESSEDNESS became IMMINENT CURSEDNESS what with the EIGHT WOES that we see in Matthew 23.
